yup. In graphite/charcoal/gunmetal (three suggestions I've had so far). Manual transmission, 2 litre engine, two back seats that fit the name only in theory :).

Quite nice so far. Managed to turn the heated seats on by accident, took me ages to figure out why I was so hot!

It's got keyless entry, which is very weird. Not at all used to just walking away from a car...

Aah, I can tell from the car behind, it's a Mazda. Nice, they're doing a partnership with Alfa at the moment, I approve!

I did actually test a couple of mazdas but I didn't want a 'hot saloon' and the MX-5 is just way too small for me.

The gt-86 is actually at least 50% a Subaru...

Both best AND worst is the Avengers BR. Long story short, they utterly botched it (see the movie news thread).

I've had that on my Verso.

Now I am so used to it, I get into my fiance's car and realise I am sitting on the keys and I have to get half back out of the car to get at my back pocket and fish the ignition key out!

Nice.
The one my local dealer had was horrible to look at. Red with black stripes. Tacky.

Clarkson's review in today's Times gave it 5 out of 5. Which is rare.

Times? It'll be behind the paywall won't it? Bah.

I'm liking it a lot. It's not super-fast but it is 'nippy' i.e. there's plenty of low end torque to zip into gaps and round corners. Took me ages to figure out how the climate control worked :D. Drives very very well indeed. Touchscreen sound system is a bit eccentric. You can actually download apps to the car(!) but they haven't done anything really crazy yet - there's a an app for the weather and one that will tell you the (reasonably) current petrol price at any garage showing on the sat nav. There's also a Google Maps app for it. Maybe I should suggest that to some other blokes I know...

Ah, we spoke about it on G+ didn't we? Scuse me, I have problems connecting forum names to real names. Some of your comments are valid IMO. Of the cars I looked at though, it was easily best fit to my requirements. There's very little about in the price range which is truly as 'raw' as you were talking about. Unless you want to buy one of the really out there end of the spectrum hot hatches, which frankly just isn't the kind of car I would look sensible driving :).

My sister has one of those in silver. Nice cars.

Useful bit if trivia here - Eric Stoddard, who designed the Chrysler Crossfire, now works for Hyundai on their coupe range. I think the 2010 model was the first one he had worked on from start to end.
