Looking at a bluray of a film I quite like ('Sneakers', since you ask) on Amazon, notice that they say 'this Bluray is in our 3 for £21 bluray sale'. Go look at the list. Seems to contain an awful lot of films with Steven Seagal in them but find two others I wouldn't mind having. Add them to the basket. Go to the basket, at the bottom it says 'Total purchase price £19.21'

That's fair enough but as I recall the memorable data didn't have to be numerical and you could pick from many different questions (mind you it was several years ago when I set mine up so I may not be remembering correctly). You had to pick 3 different questions and you only need to use components of one of them to log in.

You didn't even have to answer questions for Nationwide's memorable data. It was just three words/numbers/combinations that you can remember. There's no prompting on the screen that could give other people a clue as to your data.

A week ago, I built an order on Amazon but never pulled the trigger. Today, got a £20 voucher off so decided to go ahead. A couple of prices had changed by pennies but wasn't fussed. What I couldn't understand was why the order wouldn't arrive for weeks. The only options I had were super saver, one day or expedited. Had to delete everything and start again only to work out some flapjack bars I wanted were no longer being sold by Amazon but by a third party who wouldn't be able to supply for up to four weeks! Needless to say, I deleted the item, reordered the rest of the stuff and found it'd be cheaper to deliver this Saturday than next business day (monday).

With a password manager I can at least manage. The problem with many such systems is that the memorable answers have to be different with some systems. So you cannot use the same answer for each question. Apple has just such a system. The other factor is that my memory is fluid and what I can remember one day may not be recoverable another day with any consistency. So questions like first pet are problematic. I was just reading an article on The Daily Mail (It was seemingly the only source on the first page of Google) about the drug krokodil. I stupidly thought that, if I waded through the pathetic exaggerations, the basic facts of what the drug actually is would at least be there. Wrong. They stated it is "codeine mixed with gasoline" which is injected, and then went on the post the goriest freak show images they could get their hands on. They never fail to sink to new depths of amateurism. I had to turn to Wikipedia to find out that what they were actually talking about is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DesomorphineWhich has bugger all to do with gasoline as far as I can tell.

Well update to my post on the 11 Oct – re the Driving Licence Scam
After a number of e-mails going backwards and forwards they finally “As a gesture of goodwill” have refunded my monies
I used the Distance Selling Regulations – being able to reject something within 7/14 days of receiving it
So not really a win as I should not have been caught out but at least it has not cost me anything

Bloody letting agents. I wrote to mine for permission to get fibre broadband installed (as they will stick in an openreach modem). Nothing. They have apparently lost or eaten my letter or filed it in the bin so in the end I phoned the landlord directly instead.
Parasites!

Lucky you had his contact details. We never even knew who ours was when we last rented.

British Gas announced a 10% increase in charges to their customers, then thought it would be a really good idea to to a twitter Q&A on how to minimise your heating bills. It did not go well.

Since when do you have to tell your landlord/letting agent who you want to use for your internet?!
