I thought we were talking issues of the broadband supplier's capacity, rather than upload issues...

Indeed What I was trying to say was that TalkTalk's network is over-contended IMO because it's the bean counters deciding what needs doing, rather than anybody who knows anything about networks.

Not all accountants are so bad. Though someone failed to provide enough capacity somewhere.

It's somewhat poor humour, but it's a massive leap to describe it as racist. Twitterati over-reacting? Never heard of that before.

Poor taste and anti slavery, maybe, but racist?

I agree not racist. It could be libellous in that Apple are using child labour which they are not.

My kid tasted a home grown Infinity Chilli. They're just growing freely in the garden so I felt bad for making it easy for her to get to them but I don't think she'll be doing it again - they're over one million SHU!
To be fair after the initial tears and shock and some cooling down with ice-cream and milk I thought she handled it rather well!

Now you only have to face social services after someone reports the screaming.

There's possibly some value to a child learning not to eat any stuff off trees they don't know is safe by letting them eat something unpleasant but non-toxic. You can tell them but they won't really remember. Something like that they will remember. Better a hot chilli than say deadly nightshade.

Rather than put it in her mouth it looks like she's picked one up and squashed it but then popped her fingers in her mouth (her equivalent of sticking a thumb).
Does anyone fancy trying one?

Just had an email fall into my inbox. I have a sometime client locally, and the last time they booked me for a photo shoot, they'd actually booked another photographer to cover the event. So I booked the afternoon off work, slipped home at lunch, changed into a suit and picked up the camera. On arriving at the hotel, another photographer was snapping away, which is fine, they can book as many as they like and we can work together or separately, it's really no skin off my nose. They sent me home with a promise to pay me for my time anyway, which they held to. An invoice for work not done that was honoured - bliss. Anyway, this email:
"Hi Matt, I hope you are well. (Redacted) passed me your details as she said she has used you before for some photography work."
I'm wondering if Matt would like gig instead of me... Or perhaps I can pull off the same stunt twice...

I'm struggling to follow that, I'm sure it's missing a bit of crucial info - you pretended to be someone else previously and now they know you as that name?

Nope, I've never adopted a pseudonym. They've just clearly copy and pasted an email for someone else. I've politely declined (I'm actually busy on the date in question) and said that I hope their alternative option can cover it for them.

So why did you have an invoice for work not done then if you did indeed turn up and do work?
