She looks as though she's been dragged through a hedge.

From an email from Amazon:
"We thought you'd like to know that your 2006 CD purchase With Teeth by Nine Inch Nails is being added to your Cloud Player library. The MP3 version of this album is now available for you to play or download from Cloud Player for FREE. You can find your songs in the "Purchased" playlist."

Cool!
Because obviously I've had the CD sitting on the shelf without ripping it to MP3 for the last 7 years.

True, true, however it applies to all the CDs you purchase from now on as well. I spotted s ahole in my music collection at the weekend, went on Amazon and the CD was three quid. Thought 'Well, at that price, why not?' Ordered it and on the order confirmation it said 'OK, as well, why don't you download these MP3's of the songs on it''? So I get the best of both, the immediacy of digital delivery and the fact I get a nice physical object to have that I can do whatever I like with. Unless you're particularly picky about how your digital music is - you know, one of those people who insists on having lossless rips of CDs (rolls eyes) - it's a bit of a win that is.

When I by CD's I rip them to FLAC. Why would I want an MP3 backup?

I just wish Amazon sold FLAC.

Not really a tale of win - but SWMBO is in the US and been able to find the sam,e sunglasses for $80 ish which is less then the £ cots - so at least not too bad - still not a win though
