You don't count because you lived there, but how many of us Europeans could write the names of the states and their capitals on a map of the USA? Probably about as many as Americans could with countries and capitals in Europe. Why? Because it's irrelevant to us.

Knowledge should never be considered irrelevant. It's just not of use at this particular moment. And it's always useful for one thing : stopping yourself looking ignorant.

As it is, I could probably name more US states and capitals than I can european countries and capitals. Mainly because when I was taught geography, the US states were more or less the same as they are now, whereas the european map has changed rather a lot since then.

My front tyres are shot. The car under steered so much, when I went round a round about entering from a six o'clock position and trying to exit at 3 o'clock, I ended up skidding forwards to a half-past-twelve o'clock position.

Just worked out my weekly mpg.
15.3 mpg. All of that's been below 30 too.
Off to Exeter tonight for a burlesque show - I'll have to see what the motorway mpg is like at the moment.

I don't know if you got the point and then are making a bigger valid point, but the point I was going for (for the LOL) was the fact that the quoted American thinks that Europe is a country.......

Just sayin' 8-)

Morning all,

Why do I always leave things until the last minute...?

Makes life interesting, I guess.

Have a great day everyone.

Came home to hungry cats, filthy ducks and soggy chickens. Spent the first hour at home sorting this lot out. Now Red's home, I've had a lovely cup of tea but I still have fish water changes to do and dinner to sort out.....first must do ducky bath time which is fun! 8-)
