To say I'm excited is an understatement. After 7 years of no holidays through the recession to be able to go away is fab! :D

Didn't you go away earlier this year, and last year?

Yep I went away last year. That was the first proper holiday in years.

I'm being nagged to go to the West Coast as one of my colleagues is based in LA but not done it yet. Enjoy! I drove from NY to Florida last year.

This year the Reload Festival then a road trip in Italy with my best friend covering Venice, Milan and the lakes. Excited much? Oh yes!

Sounds fun - never been to Italy
We are doing the West Coast as we have friends in some of the places we are visiting and others flying into Vegas when we get there

Time to plan the rest of the week. For some reason dev & ops seem to think it's OK for 90% of their staff to go on holiday at the same time.
That could be interesting later when I start moving their servers live

If it's any consolation, I am literally the only person in the IT support office this morning. So much for the managers and their "We need at least two people in at all times BS. Yeah, of course they do. When it suits them.

Anyway, the online HR system isn't working, so I guess I'd better get back to work.

It's still ongoing at the moment, for the first week or so I'm basically operating on EST so that I can do training bits with the guys in Philadelphia where the company is based.

So far though, winner, winner, chicken dinner. :D

You and me both, mate...

Morning all,

Tired. Really tired.

It's the so-called management that's so very tiring.

MO 1:

  1. Ask Jim his opinion
  2. If answer is one you like, exit ELSE Wait 2 days then GOTO 1

MO2:

  1. Give Jim a sh!t-ton of work to do
  2. IF Jim.answer is null exit ELSE GOTO 3
  3. Tell Jim he only has to do one of the big jobs
  4. Wait 2 days
  5. Tell Jim he has to do all the jobs
  6. GOTO 2
