Maybe that's why they are paying you €1000? I'd ask for more money if I were you and make sure you have personal life insurance

I'm assuming you're using the short 2 pin plug with a 2 pin outlet? Tiled floor with bare feet? Try using the longer connector (the one with the wire) and connecting to a 3 pin socket

Just did some testing, and whilst they do have dodgy electrics in the house, it's also doing it without the power lead being plugged in, so it may not be their fault at all and may just be an issue with the MBP

No conference call facility? 99% of our meetings are done on the phone but then most of us have teams that are based in US so face to face is not an option

I've run most of my projects / programmes over the last 10 years plus using conference calls. The reason being distance sometimes scattered around UK others the world.

I still find this to be the most retarded view in modern businesses. Utterly insane and without merit.

This. I sit in front of a screen for 90% of my day. Why the heck do I have to spend an hour driving to where the screen is?

Totally agree however a few years back I was part of a team that effectively put an entire companies UK staff to be home working with 1 day per month in the head office. We provided equipment and connectivity to peoples homes etc we found most people loved it but some really struggled as they needed to be physically in a team ( sat with them ) rather than in a virtual team ( sat at home ).

I have to say I would like to do a bit more home working (maybe once a week or so) but would not want to be there all the time stuck in my small library Also for my job I have a reasonable number of site visits so would have to come into London on a regular basis

My holiday has finally approved! 29 days to go until the Reload music festival and then a road trip with my best friend to Italy. To say I'm excited is an understatement. After 7 years of no holidays through the recession to be able to go away is fab!
