That boat sandwich scene was funny, made the film for me. Liked it, dumb, fun. Not enough there to fuel a sequel, though it looked like it was trying to set one up at the end.

Yup I loved that. But thats the thing with this film. It had so many cool scenes that i loved but the actual story was poor. But I'd still watch it again.

Just watched The Martian. For an adaptation of a book, it isn't bad, although they seem to have cut out a lot of the action and all of the explanations of why he was doing things, or removing them altogether - the airlock on the rover has gone, he just gets in and out. Likewise the loading of the solar cells on the roof has been got around, because it is no longer a 6 seat buggs for the whole crew, it is now a one man truck with a flat bed loading area. The same with loading the robot onto the roof, no longer needed, oh and it now has a crane anyway. :?

But still not a bad film.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Great fun and well worth seeing in 3D.

Sicario.

Overrated, but I can see why it's popular. People like shots of scenery and lots of atmospheric "BONNG" noises to add tension (Like Inception). With none of the characters making sense. Lots of violent shooting and blood. Cool. Violence. Yeah whatever, it's not bad, it's just a confidence trick however, it's not a classic. Like Drive, all style no substance, but entertaining enough.

My favourite Benicio Del Toro character however, he's not overracting for once.

13/20

Daddy's Home - Your typical American comedy these days, watchable, three or four LOL moments, done. It'd be a lot better if it didn't incorporate every style of comedy going, but there you go.

The Revenant: 6/10
Beautifully shot, but ultimately nothing we haven't seen before in better films.
Leo's character isn't sufficient to carry the story, it's too long, but the cinematography is great in places. Overall though, weighing what was invested in that film (beyond the financial) wasn't worth what was produced.

As for the Oscar nomination, my money's on Eddie Redmayne. Not Leo's year, no matter how hard he grunted and yelled in this.

That would make an excellent advertising tagline for the film. :)

The only redeeming feature I could think of was the cinematography. The Rockies are the best player in the whole piece.
