Just... a lot of texts during the day at work. I was cutting a video with another member of staff and I had 2 texts from her in the space of about 15 mins, the second wanting to know why I hadn't responded to the first.
Generally speaking, lots of passive aggressive texts as if I'm ultimately the key holder to her personal happiness.
Also, her kids are clearly still very affected by the break up from her previous partner a year ago and I don't want to drag them through it all again if I do get more involved just because I happen to quite like the sex.
It's not fair on anyone involved, but particularly the kids, so time to call it a day I reckon.

Well, if it's not right at this stage (NRE has a funny effect on women IMO) then it's probably not going to work out, she's probably quite insecure (hence the texting etc) but it's her problem not yours.

You could try suggesting that the texting is a problem while you're working and ask her not to, see what she says. Whatever happens just make sure you're honest so there's no doubt in her mind as to why it's not working for you, perhaps she'll spot a pattern if she carries on that way with future relationships, then it's up to her to change her behaviours or risk not being able to keep a relationship going. I don't know any guys who enjoy being bombarded by texts so it's likely to carry on being a problem.

Urgg I really can't stand that. I chatted to a girl once for about 3 days who did it, and that was already too much.

One of my best mate's girlfriend is even worse - he was fast asleep at my house after "lad's night" boozing, and she rang and texted so many times in the space of an hour it woke up everyone in the entire house, except for him. I suggested she comes to the next one and we just stick her in the cupboard or something...

Yet more engineers laid off. :(

I'm starting to accept that I'll probably never make it back into engineering. Time to go another way I think...

I'm wondering why the weather forecast on the BBC seems to always be inaccurate?

Tonight, for example, they say it will be cloudy with lows of minus 5 for Northampton - well I've just got back from a concert and it is a completely clear sky and already minus 8

Somedays I think I'd be better off with some seaweed.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

When it's more than one page. It's only a covering letter after all.

Oh well, just over one page and sent already. I made it a bit longer than I normally would because of the following.

Quote:
I look forward to receiving your application and remember the more meaningful and testifying, the more chances for you to get the job.

I couldn't have made it shorter without covering all of the bases. I don't think I waffled, but only time will tell now.

Connectors. How unreliable they can be and how so many faults are caused by them.

My alpha prototype worked once I realised there was a bad connection on the breadboard.

My beta will probably work once I change the IC socket that isn't connecting all the pins. Now where the hell did I put that great big tube of IC sockets...

This is a one chip project that should have taken 20 minutes. I've been doing it all day
