Even Juno, the best of that self-consciously quirky "indie" genre of smug american comedies, is crap IMO :) Scott Pilgrim was offensively bad.

Why the fudge is it so difficult to revise? In the last thirty minutes, I've spent a total of 10 mins actually revising. In the other twenty, I've thought of a zillions things to do - things that I haven't bothered or thought about doing before eg I have two old calendars on my wall. They're there because I like the pretty picture each one has. I could easily cut out the pictures and stick them back on the wall, thereby allowing me to stick up this year's calendar.

My room suddenly needs a tidying despite the fact that it's been in a state of mess since the beginning of the year, when I initially tried to knuckle down.

Two weeks to go and I've still got a presentation to sort out for Tuesday.

We've all been there in one form or another, basically anything else seems more interesting at that point... Maybe go for a quick walk or something before returning to studying? :?

Round where I live, I may not make it back!

It's not that bad but definitely have to be careful. I've decided to work on my current topics for a little longer and then move on to the presentation. If I can complete that tonight, it frees up more valuable time when I can really concentrate.

I wonder whether it was the Coke Zero that I had earlier. Drinks like that have a habit of making me hyperactive.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Whether or not Betelgeuse will go supernova (or should I say has gone already) in my lifetime. Damned street lights, I'd like to get a good photo of Orion's belt and the orangey glow of Betelgeuse from my back garden but a pointless light shines just a few metres away.

What's the frickin point? I may give it a go anyhoo.

Orion is my favourite constellation because I can see it in both hemispheres, even though in the Southern it appears upside down.

Snowing atm, grains rather than flakes. Also have a day off school so I can go for nice walk to the forest and lakes. :)

Just how slow and uncoordinated our IT dept is.

My laptop HDD was dying, so they sent out a replacement for the engineer to swap over; but the replacement was blank, and the drive imaging kit turned up two days later after the engineer left in dispair. They finally get organised and he comes back, but the image is missing several key (and company standard) applications I need.

A week later, and I have most of the apps installed, but the system reverts to the network logon box every time I have to log into ANY application?!

They haven't fixed Lotus Notes yet - I'm still on web mail and cannot access my archived mail.

Fantastic.

I've always got the impression that for some companies the IT department is a very cushy laid back job. Although saying that when I did IT Helpdesk at the Longbridge site we were very busy but the most taxing thing was resetting passwords... :?

I've always got the impression the hardware side in most places I've worked has generally worked at the speed of a turning oil tanker, capatined by an Italian (too soon? :D ).

All manner of astronomy organisations and so on have organised a campaign to reduce light pollution, spurred on by the BBC's Stargazing Live shows. There's an e-petition they're encouraging people to sign to get the government to discuss it.

I've been awake since 3am and I'm tired and want to go home. Should have stayed in bed.

Thanks HK.

It just seems a bit daft, round the back of us nobody is ever there at night, it's basically a cul-de-sac that peoples back gardens border in a square.

I am pretty lucky in this area, Kielder Park is one of the darkest places in the country, even having its own observatory, and it's not much of a drive really. I just wanted to practice a bit in the back garden first.
