Snowpiercer.

I'm at the moment contemplating if this is THE worst film I've ever seen, or only just the most grossly overrated.
I don't care either way, I just wanna see the damn thing *laugh*

Yeah... you're not missing a thing.

I read a couple of sympathetic reviews that attempted to bestow some early cult status on Snowpiercer, before I sat through it. I can confidently say those reviews were pure mince, and proof that there are useless [LIFTED] among the ranks of film critics as much as there are in any other walk of life.

I didn't mind Snowpiercer. Some of the characters were great and as a look at human nature and class structures I thought it worked really well. That being said some of the plot holes were just glaring and stupid which made me wonder about some of the praise heaped onto it by critics. It was a solid 6/10 for me.

Evil Dead 2013

A re-imagining of the 1981 original, this takes roughly the same set-up and brings it violently up to date. The humour that permeated the original - and ruined Evil Dead 2 - is gone, leaving an unrelenting and brutal experience behind. This time the five protagonists are in the remote cabin to help one of their number through a detox regime. When she starts to be affected by the sinister proceedings her fears are put down to drug withdrawal until it finally dawns on the group that they are in serious trouble.

Well worth a look, especially if you are a fan of the original. The film is also helped by having very little in the way of overt CGI effects. Do be warned that it is a very violent and gory movie though and I was quite surprised to see it uncut on Channel 4 a few months ago.

7.5 out of 10

I tried the remake but had no sympathy for any of the characters.

Ant-Man - Take your brain out, go see. Because of the subject matter it's probably the most kid-friendly Marvel film yet, and as a result the dialogue is a bit too light in places and a bit crammed in in others*. But this also means the film nips along, especially good since it's basically a comedy.

If you haven't watched the trailers, don't! It'll be so much funnier if you haven't! Also, stay right to the end of the credits.

* Marvel are throwing in winks and nods all round the place as usual.

Because living Norse gods, science experiments from WWII, aliens invading Earth and a rampaging green behemoth (among others!) hasn't yet been kid-friendly at all! (8+D

Your selective quoting will get you nowhere!

No, this is the one that's the most Disney, if you will, in relation to the whole gamut.

If you've an interest in Marvel comics you could do worse than this. As you might imagine, it's loaded with anecdotes about things like why Kirby left, 'gay' Hulk and so on lol.

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

Ok, I caved in to the ridiculous hype and watched it. I'm not sure what to say about it though....it was really awful but funny in places and quite watchable. I enjoyed the sequence where sharks attack the Space Shuttle in orbit.

3 out of 10

Ex Machina - 8/10

I thought it was well acted and very engrossing, despite being fairly predictable. Every time you think "I wonder if...", or "y'know what, I reckon..." you'll be frikkin bang on. Still very enjoyable - I almost gave it the dreaded 7 out of 10, but it deserves better than that.

Agree with that, although I really enjoyed it, definitely enjoyable and would watch again.

Fast and Furious 7 - 6.5/10

If you take the whole thing with a pinch of salt and want something 'easy watching' as we did, you can have a laugh. If not, don't bother, it's unrealistic, the acting has gotten worse somehow and it seem's they just wanted to use as many different special effects at they could.

Tequila Sunrise - I wondered why I'd never seen it or how nobody ever mentioned it to me - it's probably because at the halfway point it turns into one of the dumbest films ever. Complete with unecessary, unerotic, hilarious sex scene as a milestone. Something tells me this had production problems lol.

I'm going to go ahead and say this is the worst trailer I've ever seen (see if you agree); may or not be because it is the worst film ever made (I don't know, I'm never going to watch it), but it certainly looks like it.

Of course this film has Michael Cera in it.
