If you are waiting to get a resident return visa then you'll have to stay in country for two years unless there are compelling reasons, usually compassionate, for you to leave. Make the most of it, or make something up.

for many reasons , for example to get rid of salt efflorescence . you could also limewash it to help rejuvenate the stone. (isn't me degree wonderful)
also never mix natural building material (brick, limestone, lime in general) and concrete/cementitious mortar. BAAAD practice
