Spotify's 'who needs piracy?' ads - nothing like continually hearing the word 'piracy' throughout the day to make you consider it

I pay for Spotify. I listen to very different musics depending on my mood, from Soul to EBM to pop and Spotify caters for that.

It's the fact they're getting the chastisement in when you've obviously chosen the legal method. And who's it for? I can't imagine Spotify gives a stuff about piracy, so I can guess...

It's like the anti-piracey adds you can't fast-forward through on the DVD you paid good money for. Of course, the pirated version is probably better quality and free from all that crap.

Home taping is killing music!

It shows that gun control is the solution. If all but 2 would be dead then arming them would clearly not be viable, only rearming the killers.

People that write code that leads to an HTML page being displayed without a DOCTYPE declaration. I've just pissed away a morning trying to resolve a problem that wouldn't even have been there had this been done properly.

I am spitting feathers at the moment.

You'd have at least hoped the police wouldn't have given even inadvertent credibility to the FAIL, but there you go.

Comixology doesn't seem to sync site purchases to their app - far as I can tell, you look up everything you've bought through the app individually and then decide if you wanna DL it to your machine. That much it recognises. I mean WTF... Nobody in their right mind would use the browser version either :x

Baths leaking into the kitchen, felt the roof to see where it was wet... poked a hole in the ceiling.

Left me rather lacking in confidence of the state of the area as it is likely to be damaged for a while as most of the sealant is missing on the bath

Armless artist Karipbek Kuyukov 'denied entry' to UK

Quote:
A Kazakh artist who was born without arms says that he could not get permission to enter the UK last month because he could not give fingerprints.

Karipbek Kuyukov planned to attend an anti-nuclear conference in Edinburgh.

But he got a letter from the British Consulate in Istanbul saying his "biometrics were of poor quality" and asking him to resubmit his application.

The UK Home Office said his visa was not refused and it may have been the result of a "miscommunication".

Just spent an hour researching and creating a medical template for a work program. Finally managed to finish it but needed to link it to a trigger. Ended up wiping out the template by accident!

You'd have at least hoped the police wouldn't have given even inadvertent credibility to the FAIL, but there you go.

I can think of dozens of films that have throats being slashed. Just because a game was involved it becomes the core of the problem. Yes the game might be too old for the kids involved but what about parental responsibility? They are as culpable in this escalating. Though for the kid who will now be scarred across the throat will probably wear it as a badge of honour. Though the article does mention that the kids has other issues like being a teen dad.

Ramsgate girl's hopscotch grid 'sparked Kent Police warning'

Quote:
Police told a 10-year-old girl drawing a chalk hopscotch grid on the pavement outside her house was criminal damage.

Bob Allen, from Ramsgate, said the officers frightened his daughter, Lily-May Allen, and has lodged a complaint with Kent Police, who are trying to trace them.

He said: "I'm so infuriated that they didn't come and knock on the door and ask to see me or her mum.

"They've just gone and said something to her and then just driven off."

Advice 'not necessary'
He added: "That's not the way for the police to deal with the problem, if there is a problem. And I don't think there is a problem here, so they shouldn't have said anything in the first place."

Lily-May said: "The police came over to me and said you can't draw on the floor because it's criminal damage. It kind of scared me."
