I'm not. Just more happy to see family rather than anything else. I hate boxing day sales but summer sales and xmas sales are the two times of year I tend to do my clothes shopping. Despite the fact that I hate shopping and clothes shopping especially so.

How I'm bored but that's a good thing! Just over an hour or so to go and off for the rest of the day.

How my sister's fiancé's family is coming round to meet us. We've met them but that was at their house. Cue mother getting stressed about the house (it's been part re-decorated and part not where the a-hole of a decorator ran off and didn't finish the job).

I'm almost certain it's approaching 1.61803399.

Fit with a capital Phi

Stuck at work until 5.30. Nobody is actually doing anything that resembles their jobs. We all want to go home.

I was picturing a rasher of bacon, a couple of eggs and a knob of butter somehow precariously balanced about her midriff! :D

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

First proper cold water dive tomorrow. Around 2-3 degrees, and may have to knock a little hole in the ice depending on which lake we go to. Give it a couple more weeks and I'll be able to do some proper ice diving.

A warm front and rain kept the ice at bay, but it wasn't enough to do anything for the 3 degree water temperature. I went with 3mm gloves for dexterity, and couldn't feel my fingers, lips or cheeks after 20 mins, but the rest of me in my new drysuit was toasty warm. 5mm gloves probably wouldn't have done much more for warmth, and could even have increased risk in other areas.

Testing new gear, in new conditions, at new locations, with new buddies, and in the dark isn't the safest way to do things, but it's certainly an experience.

I remembered why I'm never in charge of wrapping presents. Bit difficult trying to wrap them with just my stanley knife, sellotape that'll stick to anything other than the wrapping paper and foil paper that just won't fold properly. v
