I was ironing while I watched and I only had to straighten a sleeve and I missed something.
One thing I did hear was Martin and David discussing the DRS line. The thing about DRS is that it can only be used by the attacking driver, so the attacking driver has DRS; maybe he's kept his KERS in reserve and he's got the slipstream. The defending driver hasn't got a chance, especially if he's used his KERS already.
While DRS has certainly made things more lively, I wonder a little about it. Martin commented on the DRS line being too early. Well, it is the first season and we'll see.
As for Martin's comments on Michael Schumacher not being used to going wheel to wheel, well perhaps his return is showing that he won his world championships significantly on refuelling tactics. I used to watch F1 religiously, but once refuelling brought in much more passing in the pits than on the track I would literally fall asleep during the race almost every Sunday. Now that the racing is on the track, Mickey the Shoe is struggling a little.
I had thought last season that the enforced tyre changes was a bit of a joke, little better than refuelling, but the last two races have shown that tyre tactics are important and do add some interest and tension. During previous seasons, the (high number of) wheel change problems wouldn't have been an issue as the wheel guys would have all the time in the world while the refuelling went on. Now a half a second in tyre changes can make all the difference.

It wasn’t a given that the hunted car was doomed yesterday, JB was very wise with his KERS as like others who once becoming the hunted kept the KERS until the DRS zone and managed to hold off attacks for several laps.
As for the Michael Schumacher situation, I always felt people gave him too much respect but now he has come back drivers have thought who is this old timer? and Schumacher is getting very frustrated. He spent several seasons developing the Ferrari before it was a competitive so has diced with the middle of the grid before so I don’t believe its lack of experience he's just not in the zone he was in his glory days.

It shows much of his wins are down to the car and his team. He should be doing a little better than he is if it was down to his skill. Though rule changes might have taken away some of his tactics.

I hope Schumacher stays with the sport for a few more years - I love the idea of him fading out.
But yes, he was supreme in slippery conditions, he was incredibly exact when in clear air and consistently put it very fast lap times - making him difficult to catch, and overtake, in the pits or on the track.
The down side was, if you did try and take him on the track, the cheating tw@t would run you off the road or try and ram you.
I don't think he was ever all that great at locking wheels on the apex.
Anyhoo, back to Sunday's race...
It was very action packed, and I love to see the McLarens racing each other. It's a pity that Button screwed up his strategy, I was hoping he was going to end up with a podium. Alonso has shown that the Ferarri is competitive again, although Massa's performance didn't exactly back that up. For as little as I like Schumacher, I had high hopes for the Mercedes team this weekend - I even had Rosberg down for a podium on Sport Guru - so much for my F1 nous.
Petrov is still scoring well and I'm pleased to see Buemi's improved form is finally gathering some points.
I'm still a bit anti on DRS, but I am looking forward to seeing how much effect it, and tyre deg, has at Monaco in a couple of races time.
Anything to spice up that race will be welcome, as I don't share the common belief that it is a good racing track; in fact, it has been THE most processional track out of the entire calendar, year in, year out. Boooooring!

It's a shame that Schumacher is still taking all the lime light off Rosberg for one reason or another, Rosberg is doing a exellent job imo and Schumacher should [LIFTED] right off and leave him to it.

For many years I've never been too bothered about watching Monaco. Although I certainly will watch this year I think KERS will be of more use than DRS.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

F1 2011 announced (like we weren't expecting it anyway).
Launch date of September 23rd but you can pre-order it now (sorry Heather) from Amazon.
I think I'll be getting this. My boss has F1 2010 and he loves it, says it's the best driving game he's played.

What opened 2010 up for me was buying a steering wheel and pedal set, I can now drive competitively without any of the driving aids switched on. It just changed the whole game for me completely and made it much more enjoyable. I look forward to 2011 version with KRS and DRS…… I’m waiting for 2011 before I entering or try and enter some of the online league’s or competitions which have to be driving un-aided.

If it has G27 support (GT5... grrrrrrr ) then I'm sold. I'd need the steering wheel buttons for KERS/DRS. Will be awesome!

Good race that, most enjoyable. Shame Lewis couldn't get passed but still a good result for LH and JB.

Webber, Hamilton and Button are under investigation for maxing their times in the second sector during the yellow flags for Kovalainen's crash.

Just a reprimand.

* phew *
Apparently, MacLaren proved to the Stewards that their drivers lifted in that corner - so why the reprimand? If you're not in the wrong, there's no need to be reprimanded, surely?! Anyway, at least there's no penalty.
Enjoyed that race, another good 'un. Apart from Vettel winning (again).
