Apparently there are signs of their addiction to buffalo wings in the TV show The Wire. You have to look closely, they are all in the gutters.

Well just about to head out and realised would be in East London around Lunch time – been advised of a great little Buffalo Wing place in the area so though I would visit it – only to find its shut and moving to a new location and not open yet in the new location :(

So a fail as was looking forward to having some good hot wings but not a total fail as at least looked it up first before schlepping over

I had some great buffalo wings in Silver Spring lol

Bit far to go for lunch ;)

I didn't know what a Buffalo wing was, so I looked it up. I was curious which part of a Buffalo was called the wing...

Turns out it's deep fried chicken wing covered in melted butter. WTF?!

I know. I looked it up.

My WTF was putting melted butter on something that had been fried. I mean, seriously?

Never had buffalo wings? They are lush and I've had them all over the US. Never noticed any melted butter though.

Me neither - Its normally a BBQ style glaze / sauce on them

I was just going by Wikipedia:

Quote:
Buffalo wing, Buffalo chicken wing, hot wing or wing, in the cuisine of the United States, is a chicken wing section that is generally deep-fried, unbreaded and coated in a sauce of vinegar-based cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter in the kitchen.[1] They are served hot, along with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing for dipping.

Buffalo wings were created in Buffalo, New York. The residents of Buffalo generally refer to them as "wings" or "chicken wings" rather than "Buffalo wings," but never "hot wings."

I've underlined the added fats.

No reason to wonder why they have an obesity problem. Buffalo wings are one of the top snacks for watching sports events apparently.

I've been to Buffalo Wild Wings in Texas. They were delicious. There was a vast array of sauces you could have them cooked in.

I had them in Buffalo (which is next to Niagara Falls) after spending most of the day at customs.

Very spicy is what I remember.
