The Tomb Raider Spotify ad that seems to go on forever - who thinks hearing that boring crap over and over again will help sales?

From a friend's Twit/Book social media musing:
"A Chinese coworker just informed me that the Chinese word on my shirt means "Calm Down". I asked if maybe it meant "Serenity"? #fireflyShirt"

Shower is playing up - suspect need new mixer
Car is playing up - need some electronic bits replacing
PS3 YLOD - plan to replace it

Hope that's the "three" things of bad luck. I don't need any more.

A girl in work is the sort of person who can't walk off a kerb without a parachute, and has ordered a Meenee laptop assuming it'll have Windows and a disc drive... from a seller on Play.com. She asks me just about EVERYTHING, so why not this time?

A team in the medical school at the University I work at (Manchester, for those that don't know) are doing a conference in conjunction with a charity called Public Health UK.

Guess what they decided to register as a domain name and twitter handle...

Well she can always install Windows if she really wants to stomp up the cash, but who knows. If she's as clueless as you say, then she might actually find Ubuntu to be "the easiest version of Windows I've ever used"

Obviously can't fix an internal optical drive though. Most people really don't need one anyway though.

The problem is she's ordered it for her kid expecting it to play games, and the sort you buy in a shop

That's not even the full story... She swears she's checked the listing correctly, but the seller has sent her a laptop case

That might work out in the end though - send the case back and just ask for a refund on the computer. What winds me up is I'll be asked to look for a laptop that handles games, then get a moody look when she hears it can't be done as cheaply as she'd like... She's recently spent £300 on an iPad 2 after me telling her the kid would be better off with a gaming laptop that suited all needs. And she's buying the kid itunes vouchers all the time so he can buy South Park seasons. Some people just don't stop to think, do they?

I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 to Android 4.2.2 the other day. Guess who forgot to back up his contacts before upgrading?

Does this count as a tale of fail? Given that the most of the numbers I have lost are people I haven't spoken to for several years, (I've got the important numbers from the wife's phone) I'm not sure it is...

By the way, Android 4.2.2 is the best yet :D

Even better, the name they actually chose was @manphuk. I can imagine they're getting some DMs that aren't really what they expected.
