Ordered some stuff online.
Delivered by Hermes. They left a note saying they'd left my parcel at the back door.
I don't have a problem with that. It's not wide open to public view and on this occasion it was a plastic bag so, even if it had rained, it wouldn't have been too badly affected.

What I do have a problem with is that this Hermes agent completed the job the last one started and destroyed the gate to the back garden.

I'll admit it was a bit rickety to start with but, seriously, how difficult is it to work out that the reason the gate isn't opening is because it's got a bolt on the other side that is clearly visible and reachable by any adult of average height (top of the gate was waist height). Nah, sod having a look to see if there is a reason, just barge right through the gate - breaking off one side in the process. The previous agent had done exactly the same thing but hadn't quite managed to snap off the wood down one side.

Landlord says he didn't install the gate, that it was previous tenants, so he's not going to replace it. If I want a gate I'll have to sort it myself.

Somehow I suspect trying to chase Hermes or the online shop for compensation will be fruitless.

Herpes are feckin' useless, Tesco use 'em and I'd say they've got some irate customers as a result.

Second fail of the day:

I recently transferred about 40GB of data, over 10,000 files to our FTP server.

I just went to analyse the data, and discovered that every file had the time and date of the transfer for date modified and date created. In this case, that renders the entire lot useless.

I've just ticked the box on Filezilla that says "preserve time and date" which seems to do what it says. Oh well, it should be finished by morning. 100Gbit internet connections both sides so it's not the end of the world

Just had an email telling me that today is when the double XP weekend starts for CoD. For those who don't know, it started on Friday evening!

This should be in tales of win. Getting the email today meant you weren't tempted to waste your weekend playing the [LIFTED] that is COD.

Spent months suggesting and setting up a major character's death? How about naming them days before the comic's even published and even giving away who kills them? Well done Grant Morrison, you twat.

Seriously, what's the point of that? The BBC, which is now spoiler city if you like pop culture (from Skyfall to comics), is just as bad for not having the wit to hint at the reveal in it's headline

Old! however the French version does not mention it being an accessible car, just that the cruise control has got locked.
Sadly it seems fairly common, several cases a year at least. There is also the fools who use cruise control and then don't know how to unlock it :S

The engine of my dad's Citroen 807 cut out several times while on the motorway, now that's worrying :S

Ordering a dual-charger with fixed ports for my PS3 controller... then remembering that my controller is covered in grips of various designs. These will break if continually taken off, and it somewhat negates the convenience of the charger anyway. Dremel it is then, since the device only cost a fiver and it's taken over two months to receive it (ShopTo at their finest).

Of course, if Sony weren't a bunch of proprietary-obsessed gimps, none of this would be necessary :x
