Wow, looks like there hasn't been a post since the last season :S.

My bad i guess, just moved back home from Uni and went on a TV series spree instead (Bones, Eureka, Burn Notice etc.) and kind of dropped anime for a month-ish.

However i'm slowly picking series' back up although i've not really been finding many decent ones.

Anyhow, for a quick recap of last season:

Ookami - Wasn't exactly amazing and in hindsight it was simply average. Quite a normal/generic story with a slightly interesting twist having all the characters being based off of well known fairy tales (although it didn't really amount to much). Roughly about a 7.

Legend of Legendary Heroes - I watched the first (2?) episodes and it seemed alright, however it then got licensed by some company and couldn't find it on Crunchyroll (apparently by FUNimation who only stream to US), it wasn't really that special so i never bothered putting in any effort to try and find somewhere to watch it.

Seitokai Yakuindono - I actually ended up following this season since it was rather casual with no plot per se which made easy watching for just passing the time, it's not really anything special just with some rather crude humour/lots of sexual references (but nothing Ecchi).

Amagami SS - This appears to be continuing over to the next season, i was rather surprised when i picked this up since i thought it would be your typical Romance Drama which i generally don't watch unless they're particularly special. This series seems to differentiate itself however by dedicating 4 episodes to each of the 6 female leads (i.e. how the male protagonist ends up in a relationship with them), with a time reset after each girl's arc. It sort of skips the character development over the course of an entire series like say Clannad, however at the same time it develops each female lead within the arc so that you can see each of their personalities individually. Anyhow, it's sort of like the Tomoyo and Kyou OVAs from Clannad if they were turned into a series i guess, although not quite up to Clannad's level of storytelling/graphics/etc. Although it does have some rather nice scenes, not to mention the first (and obviously the best :P) female lead is/was voiced by the same person who voices Hinagiku from Hayate no Gotoku! (and is somewhat dere-tsun to boot- if to steal Lucky Star's expression)

Other than those have watched some shows here and there with varying degrees of success, tried Full Metal Panic! which is a classic, but i wasn't really looking for something of the Shounen/Military/Mecha anime so didn't find it too appealing. It's spin-off Fumoffu i did enjoy though however since it was more Highschool Romantic Comedy based and as such i prefered the humour.

I also tried watching Mitsudomoe after your response (and a good reaction to my normal blogging site) however it just doesn't really click with me i guess. I think it's the whole Kindergarten/Nursery/Primary School (i can't remember) age of the children but it wasn't really up my street. It reminded me of Kodomo no Jikan, of which i watched an episode and then promptly never watched another one again.

Anyhow, so this coming season looks to be promising (here). See anything you like JJ? (or anyone else for that matter).

The main ones for me will probably be:

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai (The World God Only Knows) - I started reading the manga of this recently without even knowing there would be an anime and i really enjoyed it. It's sort of like a Romantic Comedy but with more of a twist whilst at the same time being more Shounen orientated.

To Aru Majutsu no Index 2 - Obviously continuing on from last season and the spin off (which i've yet to complete :S), this hopefully will be rather good =].

Obviously there are others, such as To Love-Ru 2 and the other comedies but i think the above will be the main shows.

I assume that you'll be all over the second season of Yumeiro Patissiere? + I seem to think that "Shinryaku! Ika Musume" will also be right up your street.

It's late and I need to sleep, so I'll just respond to this one comment today.

You are not alone! None of my friends liked it even slightly. Mostly, they compared it to aids. I still love it though, even the bouncy OP. It gave me the biggest smile of the season.

tbh, I think you can well guess my reactions to rest of last season and the next, but I'll post properly later anyway. Suffice to say, there's no drought of good material :D

I've just watched the last episode of K-ON!! which was even better than expected. I think I may well give it a 10.
Confirmation of a film is very welcome. Someone on MAL said they had to announce it to prevent mass suicides, and I don't think that's far wrong

I've still not properly checked out the new season. I'm still tidying up loose ends from the last. My biggest frustration at the moment is the three week break in Shiki

Yumeiro has moved to the next series without a gap, after a flawless victory in ep. 50. This makes me happy :D

JJjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj...... i'm really lacking in a series to watch atm :( (bar the regular weekly ones). Just looking for a somewhat lighthearted comedy with laugh out loud moments (that's not mitsudomoe :P... or kid-related). Something like Nyan Koi! / Ouran High School Host Club / Haruhi would be nice. I briefly browsed through your list of 9s and 10s, tried Kyouran Kazoku Nikki but it just didn't quite click. Any suggestions? ;>.

This season's Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai is currently fitting the bill but it's a new series so weekly release :(. + It's something i think you'd enjoy, i hate that they slightly changed some stuff from the manga (the bits i found most hilarious) but they kept in the "overall" feel of it so it still captures the essence and punchline (albeit in a slightly less funny way IMO).

With regards to Mitsudomoe, i'm not surprised, it seems to be a Marmite type of anime, the comedy would imply it's right down my street but i think it's the kids that put me off.

As for K-On!, i didn't finish the Second Season, i was never on the "whoo this is absolutely awesome" bandwagon, but liked that it was different from the rest initially. Now it's kind of settled and the "new" feeling is over and i only really watched the first season for the songs (which were awesome), however the Second Season OP put me off since it seems very mish-mash. I'll get round to finishing it and apparently it's a very good Season, but i guess it wasn't necessarily my thing to begin with. Maybe KyoAni can bring back something like Clannad/Kanon/Haruhi again (although i'd hate to watch the latter two in a weekly format).

Hmmm slightly late but.....

IT HAS FINALLY BEEN DECIDED.

Can you guess the winner JJ?

+ On other matters, have you seen Ika Musume yet? It's not quite my cup of tea (although i do find some of the comedy funny), but i think you'd really enjoy it.

I've not seen Ika Musume, but I just watched the first few minutes on Youtube and it does look like it may be my kind of thing. I still haven't decided on what to watch this season; being away for a couple of weeks has put me behind anyway. Right now I'm only really following Yumeiro Pro which has gone right down hill, and Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai which to be honest seems a bit rubbish to me so far; but it's early days.

I do have a couple of episodes of the new Index to watch though, which I'm praying will be up to standards.

Seeing Nagi reminds me; I've not watched HnG!! or the OVA yet. Azunyan wouldn't win an actual fight with a cuddly toy, but she's easily the moe-est and my favourite by miles. I'm kinda hoping for a K-on!!! with just her in it

As to proper LOL series which don't seem to be on your list, although I'm sure you've seen some of them, here's my favourites:

Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu - Absolutely loved this; a couple of my all-time favourite characters and very silly.
Azumanga Daioh - Definitely a 10 on my scale with unforgettable characters. Also wins the award for the shortest film I've ever watched; do not watch it unless you've seen the entire series. I've never read the manga, so I don't know if that would spoil it.

then lower down the scale...

Kemeko DX - this is absolutely stupid and freaky. I loved it.
Maria†Holic - again, it's quite crazy.
Rizelmine - cute and ridiculous, along the lines of To LOVE-Ru. Very short episodes.

My prayers were answered by evil Catholic battle-nuns with pens in their ears.

And very short habits

Oh boy. I'd so love to punish her. She's a very naughty nun.

Also now finally watched the "Someone Watching" Railgun OVA.

Time well spent. I feel all warm inside, like I've just taken a bath :D

LOL - I got that totally confused with Kuragehime, which I am now watching by accident

Lmao.

I've still not gotten around to checking out any of the series you mentioned :(. Must get on to trying them out.

no Index 2 - I watched the first few episodes but haven't caught up yet, it's nice but at the same time i feel it's lacking something that other series have. For example, i enjoyed the first season of Index but i don't think it has much re-watchability unlike other series'. Also it's the type of series i like watching in one go, rather than the week by week format.

My current viewing schedule just comprises:

Ore no Imouto - Awesome humour, and it reminds me of one of my friend's family lol.

Amagami SS - The format always makes the show interesting to watch and so that each girl has their "turn" to shine.

The World God Only Knows - Nice adaptation of the manga, not amazing but it's still interesting to see it animated.

Hyakka Ryouran - Harem/Samurai/Action/Comedy/Ecchi. Although it's quite "tastefully" done with strategically positioned ink splatters so it doesn't feel (too) gratuitous.

LOL! On one hand I hope you mean the strict father. On the other, I hope you mean something weirder
I'm actually rather enjoying this series now. As often happens, the most annoying things grow on me...

The World God Only Knows - I've been toying with watching this because it does look good, and it's being subbed by a half decent group I always check out.

The other two also look worth checking out. I'm at an RP meet this weekend, so hopefully we'll spend some time talking about / watching stuff as well as .. err ... http://childrenofnightrpg.pbworks.com/w ... lBreakdown

LMAO! I was going to elaborate on that but then couldn't be bothered.

Guess it does give off the wrong impression lol.

It's not erally the strict father, more the Sister is also into anime and games (although the brother is as well) whilst at the same time tries to be very fashionable etc. Also has the very TsunTsun attitude but unfortunately i've not encountered any DereDere :(.

TWGOKs - The manga is a very good read IMO, it's very much like Amagami with a "reset" after every girl (although this one is soft - aka they forget, rather than hard). I really enjoy it and i'd recommend it.

Amagami SS - On the other hand this would be the show that i'd recommend most to watch out of the list. It's a great mix of comedy and romance, similar to Clannad but without the whole "drama-y" stuff to go along with it. Rating wise, it's "technically" an 8 (as in if i were to look at it objectively, the soundtrack and atmosphere aren't quite up there) but for pure entertainment/watching value it's a 9 IMO.

As for the RP... i have no clue where to start... i mean i assume it's pen and paper... but are there dice involved? How are chars. created... how would you DM/GM it... am confused :(.

LOL, work in progress. I imagine some of the tables will be filled out more after when the DM sobers up and gets some time off work. I expect I'll be recycling quite a lot of my previous characters

I do watch quite a few Japanese films. Casshern I've seen and it's excellent; nearly as visually stunning as the anime. Ichi is on my "to do" list.

Too many to mention them all, but Tetsuo: The Iron Man was probably the first one I saw that made a really big impact.

Anyway, this is the Anime thread so
