It's probably because the place is so frantic at the moment, but I don't want to be away from here in case I miss something! I may become sleep deprived over the weekend :?

I think it'll take off and quite possibly rival, if not beat what they old Dennis forums were. Remember guys, we were at the start!! Long live x404!

One word - spam. ;)

On that note, I haven't seen Tim around much racking up his usual high postcount(?)

Ah, but Markhad built up his post count over quite a long time. However,150 in just over a day is quite impressive

I'm not sure impressive is exactly the right word?! But then I was a member at the old place for nearly five years and only had 1500 odd. So I'm probably in the minority....

That's even less impressive than my 4300ish over 8 years. ;)

Still quite amazed at how quickly people are settling in here - I'm starting to prefer it, if I'm honest. It's much quicker, more reliable and has a both a photography forum and an open source one! I'm sorted!

What Gav said.

I like it here. I may never go back to the old place, because it won't ever be the same.

The thing is, post counts mean nothing. Half the bods here are spamming away, will get to 500 or 1000 posts in a week or less, but won't have added anything much of substance, just a lot of noise.

Others think about their posts, provide valuable information and support, but may not reach close to 1000 posts in a couple of years.

Which would you think is the more worthwhile forumite?

I'm a bit peed off I've potentially lost 10k posts over six or more years on the old place, but when it boils down to it, who cares? It's not the most important part of being a member of such a lively place as this, surely?

You're absolutely right, Heather. Thing is, I don't really consider myself a "regular" like the rest of you. There are a lot of familiar faces that are here now, that weren't when I joined up in 2004. They've since become more established members of the community than I am and seem to know more people (and more ABOUT those people) than I do. If I hadn't have been off work for the past 8wks and used this place as my human contact (much like I imagine you do, not having an office 'n' all) I probably wouldn't have heard about the move and I wouldn't be here right now. I may not "spam", but I wouldn't consider myself one of those people who writes carefully considered posts and always has something valuable to contribute. Most people here know more about PCs or Macs or Linux, or whatever, than I do. I guess I just hang around for the company, coz I like you lot....
