Trivial Pursuit beating Snakes and Ladders is like I'm a Celebrity beating Star Trek

Trivial Pursuit / Canasta

That aside, trivia is worthless! There's no intelligence to it. I despise trivia. Filling your brain with useless trivia is a moronic waste of resources!

IMO rejecting any kind of knowledge as being worthless is the height of conceit.

I agree with you on Monopoly though.

Is not the very definition of trivia "worthless knowledge" ?

Surely it's oxymoronic?

I just don't understand any knowledge can be rejected as wholly worthless. The worth of knowledge cannot surely be limited to its apparent usefulness.

Some knowledge is undervalued or misunderstood.

However, "trivial pursuits" is specifically about facts deemed to be of little or no value. It's the name of the game. Surely "conceit" more aptly applies to someone who is proud to win such a game?

Hey, I despise the game. Play it if you want, because so long as you don't ask me to play too then no one will get hurt

Edited for accuracy :P

We've bought Monopoly for christmas. It's nice to have games the whole family can play together, with the TV off.

We bought the version of Monopoly with the electronic cards, instead of paper money... What a great way to destroy the game. :(

On the look-out for paper monopoly money at the moment...

I'm appalled.

Add me to the 'triv and monopoly' pile.
