I'll tell you one thing, though. I never saw the original series on E4/More4 was it? but I really want to buy it on DVD now, so these vids have done the producers some good.

If you're talking about where the original scene came from, it's a film called Downfall (German: Der Untergang), though I believe E4 showed it really quickly after release (2004) :)

Is it subtitled?

Er yes. ;)

Yip, more info here, though I don't recommend reading the plot bit even though you'll already have a good idea of the eventual outcome ;) :

I ordered it this morning. Don't tell me anything, I don't want to spoil it.

If there is one area of history that I am really interested in, it is WW2. Each time I find more about something, the more I realise how little I really know.

It's really good from what I've seen of it :D

And +1 on WW2, I'm continually amazed at how much of a d1ck Churchill could be when you scrape the surface, for one thing :(

If you ever get a chance to read up on Blair 'Paddy' Mayne, do it. In fact, your local library's bound to have one or two books on him. But there's a good chance you know who I'm talking about already :)

Might interest you trigen_killer:

Quote:
Not Forgotten: The Men Who Wouldn't Fight

Ian Hislop recounts the stories of World War One conscientious objectors whose beliefs or battlefield experiences led to their refusal to do military service. Declining to enlist had repercussions as `conchies' faced imprisonment and abuse. The broadcaster hears of the social stigma for the families of COs and learns about the alternative jobs they could be forced to take on.

Tonight (Sunday), Channel 4 7:00pm-8:00pm

Doubt I'll get seeing it myself, but it sounds interesting enough.

Conscientious objectors had a tough time in both wars. Though I would personally have no problem fighting during WWII because of what was happening. Though it was not clear during the war itself. Many Germans denied knowing anything about the extermination of Jews and other groups. Though there are many things that can be done instead.
