I find that if I can't sleep well, than in the morning when the alarm goes off I can fall asleep very easily right at that moment. Except I normally have to force myself up :(

I recommend a change of scenery. My girlfriend regularly decides that we need to something daft yet fun like shop at Tesco at 2am so we can muck around in the aisles, or drive to somewhere really random and just see what we can find. Holidays are the expensive equivalent I guess.

Good ideas. They have been assimilated for future use. :)

I must confess that I am naturally a weekend person (although if the Wench continues trying to get me helping out in gardening projects this may change). There was a moment on Saturday evening where I thought "this feels horribly like a Sunday evening" and then I realised that it wasn't and that I didn't have to get up early the following morning. Pure bliss.

I suspect in part it was due to having done quite a lot on Friday night / Saturday

I've been really skint recently and seeing friends seems to involve money as they all live so far away. I have my boyfriend for company though so we usually relax, eat, watch films and tv and play the iPod / iPhone for hours until we realise we haven't said a word to each other for about 4 hours then it's 'hello who are you again?' lol

Like Heather I waiting for retirement or when I can jump off this mad ship and lead a more relaxed way of life. I've been looking through right move and dreaming a lot....

Sad as it might seem to say, but I live for everyday.

Mon-Fri; I love my work, it's only the occasional person, protocol-hurdle or repitive task that gets me vexed - but then I thrive on anger so I'm never ever that bothered by it all - and I've a good "shut off" mechanism that allows me 5-8 hours every night of "me" time - which, more often than not, revolves around my lounge - movies, music, xbox, wine, friends, etc... Good Times.

Sat-Sun; I love my weekends, I've quite a routine with them now - down in part mostly to Pub>Football>Pub taking up the first good part of Sundays (which is almost always followed by a big feed and a fester session on the couch) which leaves me Saturdays to rid me of whatever trace hangover I might have from Friday by doing something productive (often cleaning, laundry etc) in the mornings, shopping or (web)surfing in the afternoons and the evenings are usually the same as the weekdays only scaled up a fair bit.

Joy. :D

Snap! However, even if I wake up whent he alarm would have gone off there is something immensely satisfying about not actually having to get up then.

Agreed - it's quite nice to wake up, realise the time and then go back to sleep again.

Just out of curiosity, has the following scenario ever happened to anyone else?

You've had a long day at work, come home at 5pm. Lie down for a nap because you're so tired. When you wake up, you look at the time and see it's 7 o'clock, jump out of bed and think "$hit I'm late for work!" and then it dawns on you that you've only been asleep for two hours!

Yes, that's happened more than once. Generally, I'm so far into the twilight zone by then that I'm practically hallucinating. This means I sometimes think the sun is up and I'm driving to work, when actually I have one leg in my trousers and the other in the bath.

I hate taking a nap after work. Sometimes I just can't stop myself, but it always leaves me messed up for days.

I've never done that but I have woken up in the morning before and hit the snooze button and then it what feels like a blink, 3 hours has gone past and it's 10 in the morning and I'm very late for work.

I've had that happen. Not three hours - maybe between 30 and 90 mins.

No, I like the weekends. We spend quite a bit of our off-time busy, various and sundry projects and hobbies going on, either seperately or together, and sometimes we travel to visit people, have excellent gatherings and then sometimes we just like to spend the day pottering about, me in the kitchen, my Mister in his den upstairs.

I like the weekdays as well, but on the whole I suspect I will be a lot like my dad; he has so many things that fill his free time, that when he retired he suddenly found himself wondering how he ever found time spare to work.
