Well... time to liven this thread up since the new season started a few weeks ago... so what's everyone (or just JJ, as it usually seems >.>, watching lol).
Since the start of the holidays i've been watching a ton of anime to pass the time it's just not healthy lol.
Series watched/watching so far include:
Soul Eater - Have always been put off my the "childish" draw style but finally got bored enough to give it a go and boy am i thankful. It's a great mix of humour and well choreographed action although it seems to have slowed down halfway through so i seem to have stalled

.
Fate/Stay Night - Not sure how i got into this ¬.¬, the plot sounded a bit rubbish however after watching a few episodes it certainly got me partially hooked with a few twists here and there. Kinda stopped just over two-thirds of the way through though for some reason

.
Black Cat - Saw the DVD in HMV and it peaked my interest, especially since it's by the same person who did "To-Love-RU" which is possibly one of my favourites. It's not bad, along the same lines as Trigun and Rurouni Kenshin maybe although probably not as "Classic".
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu - Also known as "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi". Supposedly a highly rated after it "burst onto the scene" a few years ago? Well i didn't find it *amazing* but it's definitely good and rather different.
Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka - Ummm. not much to say, just an average Tsundere romantic comedy thing... and btw JJ, i noticed that the "Hardcore" OVA was on your "To Watch" list... personally i'd say don't bother as it's just a ton of rather cringe-worthy fan service (unless of course you like that stuff

).
Kimi ga Aruji de [LIFTED] ga Ore de - If "Hayate no Gotoku!" was toned down and mixed with another Ecchi anime then this would probably be the result. A great bunch of laughs and rather good to watch although i felt that the first and last two episodes let the series down with it trying to portray a "serious tone" in an anime which was mainly full of comedy.
EDIT: "Kimi ga Aruji de Sh*tsuji ga Ore de"Lucky Star - Supposed to be another classic? As with "Suzumiya Haruhi", I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend it, but wasn't completely blown away by it though.
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu - I saw the new season of this was coming up this October and it caught my eye so i decided to check out the first season. It was actually rather good imo although i guess others will probably see it as just another Romantic Comedy.
In addition to the already running shows mentioned i've mentioned in earlier posts such as Bleach, Hayate no Gotoku!! and Saki etc. the shows i picked up for this season are:
Bakemonogatari - This is definitely an odd show. The colour scheme is rather strong and... "off"? And half of the episode is usually filled with fast flashing blocks of text or washed out photographs of random things like a street, house, bicycle. The plot however seems to be intact and it's rather fun to watch imo. According to wikipedia iirc, it's supposed to be based on a series of light novels which have a unique writing style and heavy emphasis on wordplay which the anime tries to capture.
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu 2 - Second season of the aforementioned show. The first episode was good although i hear the next 7/8 have been exactly the same episode with very slight differences in speech and some plot outcomes? As such i've just put off watching them although i probably should just to spot and make note of all the differences which i'm sure will probably be important in future episodes lol.
Princess Lover! - Now on the surface this seems to be the typical Harem/Romantic Comedy however something just hit the right strings when i started watching it. I'm not exactly sure what it is but it just keeps me watching for some reason. I guess some of it may be due to it effectively having Saber and Tohsaka Rin from Fate/Stay Night as characters as well as what i would probably describe as a somewhat similar to Akashiya Moka from Rosario+Vampire as the "main" girl? Also the voice actors for the anime happen to include Revy from Black Lagoon and Orihime from Bleach... sounds good to me

.
That's pretty much it for the current season... i tried out a few others but they didn't really captivate me.
And since i'm bored and i've talked about both Past-ish and Present anime, i guess i'll cover the future as well

You can find next season's lineup (Fall 2009)
here.
What are people looking forward to? There seem to be a lot of sequels to anime i've watched before so i'm definitely going to be watching:
Darker than Black 2 - The first season was definitely very good and appeared to be rather original. Definitely can't wait for this

.
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun - Side story from "To Aru Majutsu no Index" which i enjoyed quite a bit. Besides... who doesn't love an anime based around Misaka ?
Asura Cryin' 2 - The first season wasn't amazing and at some point i did get a little bored of it, however the story and ending of it had me still curious and it wasn't "bad" so i think i'll stick with it.
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu 2 - I've already made my comments on the first season above... i don't exactly know what they'd include on this apart from continue to build on the relationship between the main characters and throw in a few twists but i enjoyed the first one enough to definitely watch this =].
And finally for the non-sequels, i think i'll take a look at "Seitokai no Ichizon", "Nyan Koi!" and maybe some of the others which haven't quite got me curious.
Well... ummm.... i think i've written enough

, maybe even got a bit carried away *coughcough*.
- Oh, that was it!
I was wondering if any of you could help me identify a character?
It's the girl on the desktop wallpaper in this photo:
clicky.
At first i thought it was Konata from "Lucky Star" but it appears like it isn't since the uniforms and draw styles differ.
I think she's from another one of those "well known/well received" anime's since i've also seen her in a picture whereby her, Shana (from Shakugan no Shana), Mikuru (from Suzumiya Haruhi) and some other girl are sat around a restaurant table in the draw style of Lucky Star (in fact i think the restaurant is even in one of the episodes).
Anyhow, any help would be appreciated... thanks
