All of those things happen to me, especially in my later years.

I often watch TV with a friend on a Saturday night (how adventurous am I!) and the conversation usually goes:

"Oh is that thingy from that film? I think she's got a sister. I recognise her..." x 100

I have several times met people out of context and failed to recognise them, sometimes even after they've stopped and spoken to me for 10 minutes...

I thought it was "normal" but maybe I should ask for a brain scan...

Actually it is pretty normal, unless you have had a head injury or certain illness no need for a scan.
