I went to one of his lectures in Salisbury back around 1998, I must have been about 10 at the time and didn't particularly understand a lot of it, but found the whole thing amazing. I also spoke to him on Live & Kicking in 1999, asking where other good places to see the eclipse would be (as everyone was banging on about Cornwall).
He sparked my interest in space, and thus perhaps wider science.

Dude! Absolutely no joke. I actually remember that! I don't remember the question exactly but I remember him being on Live & Kicking and people phoning in with questions! I actually must have heard your question to him.
