Although dealing with it by eating pie, followed by cake would be my preferred choice.

I'll be forty in less than a year.

It frightens me more than man eating tigers ridden by flying monkeys with killer bees in their mouths chasing me off the edge of a huge cliff in a small dark enclosed space made of blackboards and nails into a pit of spiders.

So what do you suggest I do about it?

Ditto... I'm in the same boat as you JJ, 40 in March 2010. I think it's one of the reasons I'm so depressed at the moment, it only seems like yesterday when I turned 30 DOH!!!

Edit - I've tried young women, they just wear you out faster but at least they leave a smile on your face ;)

I selected younger women and pie. What else do you need?

Dangerous sports!
I recently took up snowboarding then went on a holiday to Whistler.
(Shame about giving myself concussion though, and that was with a helmet.)

When I hit 40, my mum told me that I can be more outspoken. People will attribute it to either (a) wisdom or (b) age related madness. I think my other half wishes I had not been told that. She says I’m more contentious than I was.

I'd have to say that I can't imagine a situation where a flash car and a younger woman wouldn't help in some fashion.

That entirely depends on the attitude and flexibility of the woman you already have doesn't ??

I heard a stupid woman on the radio, saying that "fifty is the new forty"?!?! WTF? Why can't forty just be forty, and fifty just be fifty?
Live your life, ignore the numbers.

But not the numbers on the signs by the side of the road, as that could get real expensive real quick... ;)

You're welcome, by the way :P

It's from something Maya Angelou once said:

Quote:
In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked, what she thought of growing older. And, she said.

I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. Ignore the numbers, I live my life and the numbers take care of themselves. You can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

Regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as "making a life." Life sometimes gives you a second chance. You shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back.

Whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. Even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

I like it.
