my new hard drive (Seagate ST2000DM001) is unnervingly quiet, after the racket my last one made while accessing (that was a Seagate ST31000528AS), i keep having to remind myself of whether i have clicked on something while waiting for it to load although it saying that, the reason i replaced the old drive was because it has been reporting SMART errors for the past year or so (yes, i know i should have replaced it sooner...), but has recently started to report boot failures, so perhaps the extra noise was because it was broken rather than just old going to have a go at RMAing it, though im not sure what they would give me as a replacement, as im fairly sure the 7200.12 series isnt in production any more

I'm so glad most of my dating days were in the time before [LIFTED] was so prevalent and hopefully I will never have to experience it again.

I just swapped my winter tyres to summer tyres. For all their faults, KwikFit have done a decent job and understood how much work has been done on the car and how anal I am about it. No drills near the car. No marks on the alloys. I chose which tyres went on which wheels and which wheels went where. I got them to hand tighten the bolts and torque up to my request.
But I will still check everything in the morning before I head off to work.

Windows Movie Maker should be built in and very straight forward to use. Lightworks is another option, currently in public beta and planned as an open source release. Powerful but has a steep learning curve. Premiere Pro is an adobe app, so it may have a free trial option like with photoshop or lightroom. Current version CS5.5 will only work on a 64bit OS. Again quite a learning curve to use it's full capabilities. For a single project I'd probably go with WMM or PP for the extras (but limited with a trial maybe). If you think you'll be doing more in the future then it may be worth looking at Lightworks.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
