I always keep the Amazon packaging it's that sturdy

I'm assuming it's something to do with returns on broken items that caused it - I can't imagine they haven't cottoned on to a potential moneysaver, though you'd think they'd have more medium-size boxes. Play are worse, they send you something inappropriate every time!

Yes I use the amazon packaging as well for storing other things. Decent size as well.

Apart from the hoodie, I can't recall the last time I bought something from play.com. When I used to use them, they'd send DVDs/CDs in letterbox-friendly sized cardboard packages.

Those are fine, but clamshell stuff comes in a thin, wide box IME, and something like a hard drive is just the item box with a Play-branded polybag

Grr! Sony's Vaio Care utility doesn't understand Windows 8, yet. The "Care" utility disables Metro apps - I'm guessing it deletes a registry entry for launching Metro apps, that it doesn't understand.

Luckily I had a restore point and everything is back to normal, but still annoying.

You are very technically able and if you have problems imagine the average user struggling.

It isn't limited to Windows 8, there have been similar cases under OS X in the past... But it is still a pain.

I can't work out the connection there. You can't legally run OSX on a Vaio, and I can see no reason why you would want to run the Vaio utility on non-Sony hardware?

PS3 Doom 3 BFG edition contains the first three Doom games, so it's a shame that you can't quit one and jump to another. You actually have to come right out of the game back to the XMB (PS3 homepage if you will), quit the game entirely, then go back in and select which series entry you want. This is after it's made you click through all the name promoting, settings checks...

I meant that utilitiea often don't work properly on new operating systems. Similar utities (cleanup utils) on OS X have caused problems when a new version of the os was released.

Argos are selling a Toshiba laptop that's... well, the box actually says 'portable computer'

With his proud history of buying the [LIFTED] item available*, my dad has bought this thing for my sister - the track pad is crosshatched, I kid you not. And I don't know if this is something retard did, but you can't even scroll with this thing...

* He also recently bought what must be our fifth kettle this year, a Breville number that the button-release lid doesn't work on. Oh, and it can't tell if you have enough water to cover the bottom or a litre's worth.

If this sort of behaviour is genetic I might have to blow my own brains out in my forties :x

I know he's only 10 and all, but...
"Some pl on here think im racist for going todays game fancy dress loke diouf he loves it all the players do loads of fand been taking pics"

This would explain why we're being forced into teaching compulsory English content in all our lessons at work now.
