Read this. I really like what they have to say.

I concur.

I'm torn here. I've quite a low opinion of the original so that to me looks better, however it also looks like every video game cutscene I've ever witnessed

Reminds me of the CGI tv series. Been done - move along.

This does beg the question - what, no Aliens / Colonial Marines TV series? I know there was a cartoon series in development in the 1980s, but nothing like that since then?

Possibly chestbursters & etc aren't considered appropriate material for a cartoon series.

I'm still rather depressed nobody is actually going to do a faithful-to-the-book Starship Troopers, especially if you're doing CGI. Where are the proper jump suits?

Saw Priest for the first time the other evening and there's a whole lot of awesome gong on in that film.
I'm surprised it wasn't brought to my attention sooner by anyone.
I thought it was a really enjoyable film.

Was the potential Aliens cartoon why we saw kids action figures (Alien 3 obviously happened at the same time)?

Yes. There were action figures, based on a planned cartoon series, with various kinds of aliens - clearly having taken genes from other species.

Remember that there were two takes on RoboCop cartoon series, both of which swept the genesis story retry much under the carpet. I guess the Aliens cartoon series would have been a little less in your face about a few things.
