That car hasn't been parked, it's been abandoned!

I think one doth protest too much. Maybe they don't want any of those annoying door opened by a person who doesn't care dings. However, parking like that is a little extreme.

A few years ago, I bought a satnav for my car (the kind that is "built-in"). I've now upgraded to the latest version of the same satnav.
The plan was to update the maps on the old satnav and flog it. To this end, I managed to get a harness that plugged into the back of the satnav and provided two leads to connect to a power supply. I also bought a GPS antenna to go with it. The plan was to get a bench power supply and independently power the satnav so I could do the software upgrades without being tied to a car.
So a few months ago, I bought a 30V 2.5A supply. Today I get round to connecting it all up. It works fine until I tried to insert a disc into the satnav unit. The unit draws more current than can be supplied by the power supply. It tries drawing past 2.7A and the bench PSU limits the draw which causes the satnav to cut out.
I now have a satnav which I can't really flog, plus a bench supply unit that is effectively of no use to me. I will now have to buy another PSU (rated for 5A) and flog the current one. Or I just cut my losses and sell the satnav for £350 rather than £400-450.

I think I bricked my Tomtom trying to update it recently. I paid extra to have Europe on it and in the end I never took it out of the country, so I was updating it ready to give to my mum to take over to France. Now it's worthless.
