Linus and Nick yes it did used to be called the Post Office tower but as I'm old I still think of it as PO tower.

Same with the 'new' road in Enfield. It's still called that by everyone even though it's been built about 20 years or more ;)

I've spent a bit of time trundling round London for work, it's not as desperate as you're imagining. For starters, nobodies going anywhere particularly fast, so you should have time to get your bearings sorted. An A-Z is invaluable. Parking is extortionate. It's not more difficult driving in London as it is driving round of the narrow lanes down here, in fact there's streets locally I dislike more than many in London. Surprisingly perhaps, most cars in London are shiny, dent and scratch free; I'm not sure why you're nervous about driving into the centre.
