Just seen my quota of old planes for the year :-)

Two formations flew right over my house, and the other two (one of which had what I think was a Blenheim with some Hurricanes) further away. Fantastic noise, and they come up in you so quickly too.

In did take some video. Whether it's of any use or quality has yet to be determined, as I'm not that good at spotting though the camera screen.

You're not supposed to eat them!

At least, I hope that is what you meant.

They don't like it up 'em Captain Manwering!

There's been a Spit doing aerobatics over the airfield at Colerne, a truly wondrous sight and sound. :D

Here you are - video of two of the formations flying over where I live. The first really did fly right over the house.

Second group is flying 'Missing man' which is a bit odd. You might fly that at a flypast to a memorial ceremony but you wouldn't fly it say going to or from somewhere. It's considered to be bad luck and pilots are a superstitious bunch. You near a WWII airfield or place a ceremony might have been going on Paul?

North Weald is on the A414, so, yes, reasonably close to such an airfield (it's near the A414/M11 junction) - as well as Blake Hall, a command base during the war. Essex CC said that they would be flying past that location.
