One thing that did interest me was the shot of the final lunar module leaving the surface of the moon in 1972. The shot was clearly filmed from the surface of the moon, but it appeared to follow the module as it blasted off. Now, two things get me about this.
1. How did the footage get to Earth? I guess that they used not only a camera but radio transmission equipment AND left it on the moon. Fair enough. What's the cost of a camera etc. compared to the Apollo project?
2. How the hell was the camera moved to follow the module???
I had recorded the first part of this program, but not the second so I can't check. Perhaps it wasn't moved to follow the module, but it looked like it to me.

There was a bloke sitting in Mission Control with a joy stick to control the camera. Apparently, he'd planned the shot for a while, and had to account for the radio signal delay. In fact, I think you can see a miniscule delay before the camera pans up.

CLICKY!Have a look at 4:29. That's the footage of the launch from the moon of Apollo 15. It doesn't follow the ascent but it explains WHY it didn't follow the ascent. It says... "The planned attempt to follow the climbing ascent stage was omitted because the camera's tilting clutch was broken."

I never thought about that, because I am stupid. I wonder why they bothered though and I like the part about having to plan ahead for the delay. It would have been a complete waste of time and money if he'd goofed.

To those who have expressed doubts about the moon landings...both the Russians (CCCP) and the British (And probably others) tracked the mission to the moon, are they in on the conspiracy too?

Which is kinda why I think we may have gone, but a lot of the media materials are fake.

It is also the little things like the fact that the camera tilting clutch was broken and so missed the ascent that confirm for me that it was real.
If it was faked then they would have done another take and got it right.

That's what they want you to think. They are not as stupid as me.

Don't forget the role of our friends Down Under - which is immortalised in the film The Dish.
