Completely agree. TBH I've always thought that IVF should be self-funded. It's technically not a disease process.
+1
There are plenty of children who need adopting if people can't have their own.
My wife and I agreed years ago that if we couldn't have our own children naturally, we wouldn't have IVF.

Which is fine if you get to adopt. It seems lately that's become a real challenge :S

I agree re: adoption (and fostering). It seems you need no requirements to have children of your own but if you're gonna look after anyone elses, you need medicals, financial assessments etc.

But you're men and you don't understand the power of a woman's womb and ovaries. Some women just have the need to produce a child of their own and nothing else will do.

I would very much have like to have my own child. My future wife has 2 daughters and I love them dearly, but I still sometimes think about the missed opportunity to have a child of my own. But for my fiancé it would be dangerous for her to have another child and I don't want to be a grandfather aged father.

I never found the right woman, when I was younger. Now I have found the right woman, but it is too late for us to have a child. The wish to have a blood heir is sometimes very strong, but it is something I have to live with.

And that the anaesthetic didn't work, didn't make the experience any better!
