Since the early 60s, legendar singer Mick Jagger has been at the forefront of rock music.

Who better then to develop a TV series about the music business from rock to hip-hop than Mick and his good friend and fellow collaborator Martin Scorsese?

Working from Jagger's original idea, Scorsese and 'Boardwalk Empire" writer Terence Winter are working with Jagger to develop the HBO drama which is tentatively titled 'History of Music.'

The project, which has beenon Jagger's mind for quite a long time, is described as “a rock ‘n’ roll epic following two friends through 40 years in the music business, from the early days of R&B to contemporary hip-hop.”

HBO is in final negotiations with Paramount to develop the drama series, which will likely have the pilot episode (at least) directed by Scorsese.
