Can't say I use them much myself, or that I see this being successful really...

I use the timesonline website a fair bit, in conjunction with the bbc news website for my news reading.

There are some bits that I will read and some (probably) most bits that I don't read. I also value the comments people make. If they start to charge, I may stop reading. I generally don't have time during the week, or even at the weekend, to just sit there reading the paper, so I end up reading bits on different days.

Currently, the site is written like any other news story website. But I have seen adverts flaunting a new kind of service where you read a 'proper' newspaper online (basically a digital version of the newspaper online, replicated from the print version) and TBH I wouldn't pay much for it.

Bearing in mind there's no cost involving paper and ink etc, I should hope that the site should be almost free. The most I'd be willing to pay is maybe £10, £20 at a stretch, to read online. The cheaper it is, the more likely I will be to sign up.

Quite frankly if The Times (my paper of choice) starts charging for content I'll be switching to the Telegraph and/or Grauniad.

I think there was a story doing the rounds about the Grauniad considering charging also (a few months back maybe) :?

I don't think I've ever bought a newspaper, I've had a subscription to two magazines, one in print and one online. I don't think I'll pay for anything like that ever again.

Telegraph it is then, I'm following the free content. Even if that means just using BBC News online.

I'll only buy a newspaper for a particular article or two these days, and/or if I'm gonna be sat bored on a course or something - they only happen about twice a year now ;)

I do buy a load of mags and comics though :D
