I think it's a bit lower than that - there's certainly ~20 million people over 50 in the UK, let alone the work force.

I'm not sure Morgan and Bristol could handle that sort of order. Well, they probably could, if you didn't mind waiting several decades for your motor.
Edit - I'm forgetting Ariel and Caparo. That's added another source of motoring capacity.

Which housing crisis would that be? I can think of a couple.

Kids in education don't commit crime? O rly?
A valiant effort and apparently with fewer issues than anything those in power have come up with.
Unless the banks will get a bit funny about suddenly not having the income from a mortgage, might bugger up their numbers.
