Quote:
EA has confirmed that Shank, a PSN/XBLA-bound side-scroller from Indie dev studio Klei Entertainment, will be out on August 24 on PSN and August 25 on XBLA.

"Shank blends classic side-scrolling action gameplay and unique stylized 2D art direction with a revenge story penned by award-winning game writer Marianne Krawczyk," explains the PR.

On the plot: "Shank tells a classic story of gangland betrayal through a mature, pulp-fiction lens. Gamers will play as Shank, getting their hands bloody as they uncover the secrets behind Shank's past and the reasons he is hell-bent on revenge."

EA promises a "deep and intuitive combat system" that lets player pull off a number of destructive combos on enemies, along with local co-op gameplay in a specially-designed prequel mission that lets you and a friend perform double-team moves and pass obstacles using team work.

It'll cost 1200 MS Points on XBLA, and $14.99 on PSN.

Now, would you pay around £10 (today's rate, and it'll probably be slightly more) for what is essentially an old MD/SNES game with slightly better graphics?

To put it into context, £10-15 will get you a brand new 'proper' PS3/360, 1p/MP game... This one would need to have some seriously neat touches and a sh1tload of levels for me to even consider it, personally :?
