Modern Warfare 2 is listed for pre-order on Game and Play.com, etc. Its £44.99 though. Thats not retail either, thats the pre-order price. RRP is apparently £54.99. Is this supposed to be some sort of joke? Most games are £29.99-£39.99 as new releases on Xbox and PS3 (unless its a so called special edition) so how the hell are they managing to price MW2 at fifty-five-bloody-quid. If you ask me its trying to cash in on the success of the previous game (which held it value on the consoles for a long time, i dont think its reduced all that much from the rrp even now is it?) Even at £45 I can see it selling in the thousands on release. Its disgusting if you ask me.

Rant over.

(p.s. i cant buy the cheaper PC version as all my friends play it on XBL)

TBH I expect it will be £39.99 on launch anyway. Why would you want to order it this early? :/

Anyhoo the PC version won't be much cheaper, I expect it will retail at £34.99 at launch.

Both the PC and PS3 versions of Modern Warfare are still holding their value, if I sold either I could easily get in excess of £20 for them.

I'm not so sure myself. Its the first time I've seen a £55 RRP for a non-special edition version. I fully expect it to hit the shelves at £45.

The rest of the pre-order chart on Play (Bioshock 2, Asassins Creed 2, Ghostbusters, Fifa 10, Operation Flashpoint 2) are all the usual £39.99.
