I spent an hour today doing the AR advanced challenges. Hammered them all fairly quickly except the one on the sign where you glide into the jokers teeth. Too narrow.

Still have yet to see the warden.

Gave up on the challenges, they're just infuriating...

I've just done the catwoman level. Found it very limiting compared to Batman but entertaining nonetheless. Given that I have the special edition, Catwoman is included and I may play her again. Was surprised - I went to leave Batman alone and it turns out the Joker overruns the city, and Batman and Gordon are dead. After everything that Batman went through, I thought he would have been able to lift a block off himself.

The helicopter thing was quite cool - I started hitching lifts as a way to get around!

I've just reached the tower thing where Strange tells Batman it's all his fault. I thought there were only a handful of baddies but didn't realise they kept on coming! This was harder than the Joker level. Will have to try again later.

i just penetrated the tower. Very easy battle since with two ledge takedowns, another three came to peer over the edge. Got up behind them and did a double takedown on two. The third guy still kept looking down so took him out silently too. Used a sonic batarang to grab one guy's attention and when I took him out, the final guy came to investigate. Thought I did quite well until I tried to hack the lock.

The scene at this point was interesting and certainly something I hadn't considered.

I think I've just got to do the last bit. Snipers and i expect a "boss" battle.

***** END OF SPOILERS ******$

I wouldn't bother with the new DLC mission, folks. Two hours long, adds nothing to the story whatsoever, and it actually signposts what gadgets you need to use! It's pretty bad when you can't even say it's worth £6.50 :(

Writer Paul Dini won't be back for part 3

http://kingofbreakfast.livejournal.com/106617.html

That might be for the best tbh, the way that reads he wasn't involved with the DLC and you wouldn't have known any different

I also thought City's developments could have been better structured, it just didn't have the focus of Asylum, though that's kind of understandable. I'd point out Dini's hands would have been tied a lot more with the sequel, probably.

Warner Bros. registers 15 Arkham-related domains

While City was good, I'd prefer something closer to Asylum's laser-focus on story. Mind you, I'm never giving MS money and Sony need a good kicking, so the point might be moot

I agree that B:AA was story-focussed but I loved the open world of B:AC and how you could do different missions in different orders, following several threads simultaneously.

Just started back on this. So much more advanced than B:AA.

To add to the above, I can see how Arkham Asylum was more focussed. It was basically one storyline that involved multiple characters. Arkham City has multiple threads/stories in addition to the main one. Much more complex. Have finished main storyline but slowly collecting all of the side missions including the riddler trophies.

I really will have to go back to these games. Took a notion after watching Arrow; with his villains being rubbish they're using more of Batman's side rogues gallery*, and to great effect, both in individual episodes and across the wider story.

* Many of the 'lesser' villains from the games have turned up already, and the Easter eggs are absolutely brilliant too. Arrow is remarkably cheesy in parts, but everything is well thought-out across both seasons so far (this isn't any old bollocks will do, Lost-style  ).
