Looks cool.

I'm still worried it'll be a button bashing session a bit like assassin's creed or PoP when it comes to combat.

It does although i like the counter system which could make it deeper... especially on the hard difficulty mode where they remove the warning for an attack :D.

Dammit that took the shine off the game for me. Looks like another button-bashing game, which I hate.

I dunno, was it ever gonna be anything else really?

Any game I've ever played that tried to do something more just wound up being overly complicated and actually a pain to play, though I know what you mean ;)

That's only a challenge mode video which appears to just be another mode just with stages of enemies to defeat etc.

The single player appears to place a much greater emphasis on stealth seeing as the enemies are likely to be armed with better weapons etc. I do hope it's not just a brawler, take a look at the other challenge mode trailer which takes a look at the stealth aspects clicky

Brill vid - cheers!

Here's a preview review (if that makes sense):

After the game trailer video, that's the first vid I watched and was exactly what I was expecting Batman to be all about. But seeing that brawl trailer convinced me I was wrong. Thankfully, it's just a mode.

Almost wish I hadn't read that. Spoilt a fair few things for me, but essentially summed up what I was looking for in a batman game.

Here's hoping the £60 for the collectors version is money well spent.

:)

It's a trade-off, isn't it? You wanna know more so you can decide if something's worth checking out, but to do that you have to take away some of the surprise - I've learnt that again recently with the Terminator: Salvation movie (think I'll rent it on DVD)

When certain films that I want to watch are airing in cinemas, I refuse to watch any associated promotional stuff like interviews, trailers etc. That way, you're more surprised and astounded by what you see. Unfortunately, didn't happen with Batman.

I saw the first game trailer and was blown away. On that basis, I preordered the game. Then I saw the first in-game trailer and was blown away even more with the stealth approach, but at the same time, you still want to be astounded by it. The beat'em up thing really worried me but as long as it's a mode.

Never been a fan of beat'em ups, primarily because I can never press the right combo and end up button bashing to make things happen.

I'm not too hot at that either

By the way, have you ever played Batman Begins? It's very similar to Asylum now that I think about it... I thought it was a decent enough game on the PS2 (a lot of work went into it for one thing), but the game critics never gave it a chance :(

No. Only just moved from PC gaming to consoles.

If the PS3 had backward compatible gaming, I'd have picked this up by now!

You could always pick up a first generation PS3 second-hand? Personally I shan't be selling my first gen. PS3, and I have been asked many times.
