So, what do you say to that? Would you rather not be caught up in some sort of embarrassing war scenario with the Americans? ;)

... ;)

I can appreciate it for teamwork based times, but in a multiplayer game it's mostly Yanks making anti-semetic and homophobic comments about players

I generally chat with friends on Live, but don't talk much during multiplayer

I actually find the nonsense Americans talk about in games to be annoying, and if you don't do what they ask they rage quit. :?

Im just not that chatty on online games, Im usually too busy getting shot  plus except for a few English servers (such as Dads army), I just dont like to chat with twatty american knobs with high pitch whining voices. German and Swedish servers tend IMHO to have a better level of players.

Having toured the world's servers playing CS (in one form or another), Quake, Killzone, etc. for almost ten years, here's my findings:

UK: Quiet on the whole, play average, likely to take the pi55.

France: Cocky, but with little skill to back it up.

Spain/Portugal: Yak, Yak, Yak, Yak....might as well tape down the voice comm key.

Sweden: Scarily good, polite, enjoy a laugh.

USA: Brag constantly about how they're gonna "pwn" you, call you a f*g, qu**r, ni**er, b*tch. Then proceed to suck harder than a pensioner on a bag of werther's originals. Swiftly followed by a rage quit, or...if playing a PS3 game....threats to get you banned from PSN

Americans and Germans yeah, the Germans seem to have a higher proportion of cheats, maybe that's because there is a lot of them, I don't know. When you go onto a German BF2 server, they are the ones who have rules to suit themselves like 'No Claymores' or no 'Grenade Launchers'. In fact seen some lately with 'No Grenades'. Its just things to let them get more points in a round, then they start typing these furious rants across the screen in capitals, never seen anything like it.

French players tend to be ok once you talk a bit of French if you know any, same with Spanish.

Coming from the comp side of TF2, I have noticed that the Scandinavians are definitely the ones who says the most useful stuff.
Then yanks just blab endlessly and rage a lot, then French do, as others have said brag with nothing to back it up with.
The Spaniards Portuguese, etc do talk non-stop.
And yes, we brits are the least talkative. Although when we do speak it is relevant and should be listened to and taken heed of xD

i agree, american chatter is more often then not aggressive mic spam, which more often than not gets muted instantly :/ i dont think british untalkativeness is due to shyness, we just dont have the same inferiority complex as friendless american 13 year olds :)

I sometimes listen to the yanks on Xbox Live just for the laugh - it can be quite funny in small doses.

I usually target the one who thinks he's better than everyone else, and watch him blow a fuse!
