First you have Batman: Arkham Asylum with a Batarang in the Collector's Edition

Now we have the Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition" with... welll take a look for yourselves: clicky.

Are games developers trying to turn gamers into Ninja Assassin's ?

And either this will be prohibitively expensive, won't make it to general release in the United Kingdom, or the government will seize them all for use in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You have to admit though, it's a genius bit of marketing and potential sales grabber - I considered the PS3 Batman set with the Batarang. I don't even own a PS3

Very much so, i showed it to my friends (all who have 360s) and we were just like "yeah.... may be buying that when it comes out ¬.¬"

Another stroke of "genius" imo is whoever came up with the late 2009/early 2010 game releases.... For me and my friends it involves either Red Dead Redemption or Bayonetta for the single player, and either Halo 3: ODST or Modern Warfare 2 for the multiplayer aspect.

During Christmas me and my new flat mate will have "Army of Two: The 40th Day" to play which we both spent a stupidly large amount of time on last year due to the original's addictiveness. And shortly afterwards is Mass Effect 2, which will take up another portion of our lives.

All this is during our third and final year of our courses.... i think we're screwed :(.... but we'll enjoy it though :D.

I want to know if the NVG goggles actually work like they say they do. It would be pretty cool to have them though :P

I swear i posted a reply to this 0.o

Basically i don't think £120 is *that bad* considering what you get... assuming that they are of a decent enough quality.

Especially considering that the "Hardened Edition" aka Steelbook edition which just comes with an Art book and COD1 XBLA download costs £70 whihc is a complete rip-off.

I've seen a few sites selling night vision goggles and judging by the cost the ones you get with MW2 wont be up to much.

I don't know. Infinity Ward managed to save the Call of Duty franchise, even after Treyarch did a god awful job of COD 3, I never managed to complete it, never even considered CoD:WaW.

I have high hopes for Modern Warfare.

You do know I'm talking about the night vision goggles and not the game right?

I think I'd rather save £80 and just switch the light on...

NVG is kinda fun at first, but the novelty soon wears off. Unless you're heavily into stalking or lamping (shooting small furry animals at night), or are in the armed forces, then I guarantee you'll find something better to do with your time than lurk in the dark looking at things.....

I did the day course at RAF Henlow in NVG familiarisation a few years back (I got in for free, but if anyone else wants to have a go: clicky... ) and the key to it all is learning how to visualise without any depth perception. NVG's use only one lens and the same image is sent to each eye. When you are flying fast towards a town at night and have seconds to decide which is the weapons factory and which is "Allah's school for Orphans", learning not to trust what you see is pretty tough :?
