You can get 4TB 2.5" drives now? Blimeh.

The USB music player thing got mentioned in the PS Access 'Things you need to know about the 3.5 update' video if not in the PS blog article. PS Access is well worth a sub btw, they do really good stuff. Most of which is not much to do with promoting Playstations.

Is that the YouTube channel?

Yup. The equivalent Xbox channel is called 'Xbox On' which is also good but doesn't do quite as much stupid stuff.

Their Uncharted 4 vid has just convinced me to order it

The best PS4 hard drive upgrade | GamesRadar+
http://www.gamesradar.com/best-hard-drive-for-ps4/

How noticeable would a faster HDD actually be over the stock version? :|

I could maybe believe an SSD would be worth it for speed, but even then... and I wouldn't be surprised at all if games fell on their arse somehow as a result.

I imagine you also have to account for your disc and drive's limitations.

I've been looking at a HDD for the Xbone as the 500GB internal is almost full. It seems that as the external drive uses USB3 (faster then SATAII) load times can be improved. It also improves more by moving up the scale of 5400rpm>7200rpm>SSHD>SSD but not with enough significance to justify the price hike over a standard 5400 USB3 2TB HDD.

Install times generally aren't improved as that's limited by the read speed of the Blu-Ray drive.

PS4.5 codenamed NEO: leak suggests upgraded, prettier games but no old/new console split | GamesRadar+
http://www.gamesradar.com/ps45-specs-de ... u-upgrade/

Would any of the playing outcomes even be noticeable to the average person?

Either way, it's a kick in the balls for those who placed their faith and money in Sony this time around.

Shadow Complex Remastered for PS4 goes paramilitary spelunking on May 3 | GamesRadar+

I like the look of it, but the Metroid reference bothers me a lot - people who like Metroid aren't normal ;)

Your PSN account is going to get a lot safer | TechRadar

Er, that seems like a bit more faff for the customer after desperately trying to remember a password they haven't thought about in years, waiting fcuk knows how long for a reset from Sony before entering it, then awaiting a code on their phone... meanwhile you probably didn't get hacked as such, but Sony might have!

That's a bit more like it at least, though the 'headline' games are relatively old.

Uncharted 4: will require 5GB day one patch | Den of Geek
http://www.denofgeek.com/games/uncharte ... -one-patch

AKA we already delayed it a few times too often, please spend hours wondering if you should have just gone on holiday or something when you bought a PS4.

I'm totally sick of this sh1t.

Which PlayStation Plus games are free in August? | GamesRadar+

Er, basically more sh1te then. If they hadn't mentioned Elite with that first game I'd have wrote off this update altogether.

Oh no! Here comes Sony's first PS Plus membership price hike | TechRadar
http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/oh ... ke-1326911

They're taking the piss. It's friggin' crap right now never mind charging more for it!

Ridiculously slow downloads, 'free' games across three platforms every month that are usually so sh1t you don't even try them, crap discounts to go with their crap sales... and lets not forget the endless maintenance. Oh, and the multiplayer component used to be free on PS3 somehow.

The PlayStation 4 slim has a redesigned controller with a new view of the lightbar | GamesRadar+

Great, they've likely managed to make it even more distracting than before. I wound up putting a sticker over the faddy, battery-draining nonsense.

The bloody thing reflects on the screen too.

Still, the receiver widget for computers sounds good.

PS4 Pro Specs | GamesRadar+
http://www.gamesradar.com/ps4-pro-specs/

Er, it sounds like the MS option is the one to go for if you don't really care about platform.

Taking the Pro on it's own, I have absolutely no reason to upgrade personally. No intention of buying what's almost the same system over again, buying a new TV to get the benefit of graphics or images I don't really care about, no interest in VR, it's months between good games and even those aren't always my thing...

Did I read correctly somewhere that the BD player in PS4 Pro is not 4k compatible? If so that seems like an oversight to me. It's a nice bump in power for those wanting to try VR but otherwise I'll hang on to see what MS put out in the new year.
