Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, Skulls of the Shogun and more coming to PS Plus in June - Gaming News - Digital Spy

Excellent, I was eventually gonna buy MGS. Might give Shogun a go, though the control system for games like that is all important.

Looks like a 1TB PS4 is on the horizon | GamesRadar
http://www.gamesradar.com/1tb-ps4-info/

It'll be a long time before I even come close to filling mine, especially since I mostly rent the games. Only once enough time has passed for there to be a decent collection of mainstream games that appear on Plus will I have to sort it!

You can now watch your own videos using the PS4 Media Player app | GamesRadar

About fcuking time! Hate the way they've clearly waited until just now to do this. At least I won't have to fire up my PS3 to watch a download and put my headphones on for silence in this house of nutters.

Is Driveclub even worth downloading? It looks like every other driving game tbh.

It's actually pretty good now, although it was a shambles when it launched. It's more towards the arcade than the full sim end of things and it probably is the best looking driving game on console right now (although the differences between it and Project CARS are quite subjective). It's worth downloading the free version if you like driving games at all.

Don’t expect backwards compatibility from Sony: “our focus is creating PS4 games” | GamesRadar
http://www.gamesradar.com/dont-expect-b ... ps4-games/

AKA 'Do you fcuking mind? We're trying to push our bullsh1t service here!'

Also they're not creating too many PS4 games, and are more than happy to pocket a fortune for others' games on PSN that are totally broken. For instance.

Or possibly "we're trying to make games that show off our new hardware and convince people to buy it, rather than doing stuff for which the immediate reaction is 'well why don't I just go get my 360/PS3"? Microsoft will make no virtually money at all off backwards compatibility. There's been no real sign of a significant gain in XBO sales since it was announced. However MS can afford to throw some money at PR-friendly features that have no basic effect on the bottom line because they have other cash cows to live off. Sony basically don't. Everything they do has to make money off it's own bat, and BC as a feature simply doesn't.

This is very well illustrated by the 'reimaging' stuff they're doing/have done with the likes of Last of Us, God of War and the upcoming Uncharted collection. They'll do it if it will money. They won't if it won't.

And no, they really, really, don't give a crap whether you like that or not.

It's the dancing round it that bothers me, then claiming their attentions are elsewhere. Just come right out with it, instead of casting shade on a company that has somewhat cracked it and could have sold the games if they wanted to. They seemingly aren't even focused on fixing their own store ffs. I went on the other night and entire chunks of it wouldn't display/load and two nights ago it continually signed me in and out. How do they expect people to buy into Now when they can't even do straightforward downloads?

Just looked this up on the store, they want £2.99 to play an ancient game for two days. That's the starting point. The prices are laughable... You could buy most of the games second-hand for that with free delivery ffs. Christ, some of the games can be bought off the store for £2.99!

Even if you rented the discs off a company like Boomerang you'd still be getting a better deal when sending them back and forward. And without the potential connection issues.

I was in the closed beta. Technically, it actually works quite well. I wouldn't want to play tournament Street Fighter over it but for 'non twitch' games it works perfectly well. The issue the beta had was the games that were available. They basically had a small selection of games to play which rotated on a week by week basis but I never saw a game I thought 'Oh yeah, I'd pay to play through THAT again' the whole time. There were some big names there but the likes of Uncharted don't really benefit from second play throughs unless you're a trophy completist.

And you're right, the prices are insane. The only pricing model that would possibly work for this is a netflix style 'monthly sub to play anything you like' model That's it. Nobody is going to pay for this stuff per game.

I have to admit i don't really see the point of backward compatibility in general. When I bought PS4 it was because I'd played all the Ps3 games I wanted to play - I wanted to move on and try new things. Why would I want to play PS3 games when I have PS4 games to play?

Overall, to me, it's the answer to question few people are asking, at price point few of those people are willing to pay. So what's the point of it?
