It's also 15 quid more than the retail price. Forget that.

There's a new update, which is probably a result of the maintenance yesterday

Starcraft now uses an always on DRM. You need to be logged in every time you play, so no more guest access if your connection goes down or you play solo only games. Well lets see how this goes. They might destroy the model that the public accept and they will have no alternative, so switch to other games like android or iOS.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. IIRC if you're offline when you start Starcraft 2 it will let you play but you only get to play the campaign mode and you don't get any achievements or etc for what you do. However if you go offline in the middle of a session that you started online, it will throw a bit of a fit. I'll check this evening if i remember.

Diablo 3 definitely needs to always be online (although apparently this won't be true of Diablo 3 on PS4).

You may be right. My macs are always connected. I might try when my connection fails, which is rare. I only play solo so do not care about achievements. The campaign still has not been completed for either segment of the game and expansion pack.

Plus update

Nothing there I'd care about, personally.

Okami seems to be one of those games that has a very illustrious reputation but next to nobody was willing to pay actual money for. Might be interesting as a freebee, especially given the move controller allows you to actually paint the chinese pictogram strokes on the screen. The Cave is actually a pretty recent game too - I think it may only have been released some time in 2013...

I just can't care about games like Okami

Yeah, something makes me think The Cave showed up in January.

PS3 firmware 4.40 to enable downloads from web store

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/39 ... web-store/

:?

And did the headset not work with PS2 games?
...

Rain: First gameplay trailer released

Looks like a slightly fancy PSN game so far.

I assume this means 'automatically when your PS3 is next switched on or immediately if it is on' because you can already buy stuff on the web then kick off the download at your PS3, you just have to go into the menu and click on it rather than it happening on it's own. I assume also if you're one of the PS+ people and you buy something it'll download the next time the PS3 kicks up in the middle of the night to auto-copy your saves to the cloud.

PS2 didn't have a 'standard' headset. There was a USB one that got given away with the SOCOM games when they started doing voice control of AI team-mates but it had to be specifically written into games and wasn't something that was generally supported by the development community.

Err.. that's exactly what it is. In the Journey/Flower kind of way of things.

I'm wondering just what performance you got with the PS3 headset until now :) .

I wasn't sure what Rain was, the article didn't say, but that's CVG for you. It looks like another attempt at an Ico-style game, and those have never held my interest.

Um. I use mine quite a lot. In fact I can't remember the last PS3 multiplayer game I played where I couldn't use it.

It seems to me a bit of a stealth game, but using 'being in the rain' as a substitute for 'being in the light'.

No I meant with PS2 games - I've got the stereo headset (so does CW) and the BT earpiece jobber... Somewhere.

Another pretty laughable update, sale's not much better. I've got credit and I still wouldn't touch this stuff:

Sony's doing their usual bang-up job of getting the word out, but if you look under apps on the store there's one called Crackle.

It's free TV shows and films (though they're still updating it), with the same two ads before the credits, after the credits and God knows where else... So far the shows are pretty awful and the aspect ratio shrunk down and/or in especially sucky resolution, but it can only get better I spose.
