Many games are often good if you can get 10 hours gameplay out of them, on the x3 forums you're still a bit of a noob if you've only been playing for 2 or 3 years... :D

only 10 hours? I spent 7 and a half years of my life on operation flashpoint 1, I have 1200 hours on terraria

Agreed, I've played a few really good games that lasted a few hours in total (Portal, PoP Sands of Time, etc...).

However, the first game I played that was amazing and I got really good at (and i mean one of the top players on the server) was World of Warcraft.

I played that for around 3 or 4 years.

Just Cause 2 - played a demo ages ago and it was rubbish, but I knew there was more to it somehow. Sure enough, on renting it it became clear the demo wasn't representive at all. It's a great mixture of action and fannying about! Ordered it last night...

Borderlands 2 - its ruddy good.

Also, Mirror's Edge is up on the UK PSN shop for 15 quid I think. If you haven't played it, it's a slightly flawed gem. Truly one of my favourite games this generation, that got nowhere in the shops because they released it the same week as CoD.

Finished Darksiders 2 (bar the DLC) - good game since they fixed it  , but the overall story and cutscene handling was rubbish compared to D1. The ending was a complete anti-climax and all.

Just picket up Uncharted 3 brand new £13 in Blockbuster. Almost grabbed Sonic Generation for a tenner too. Maybe tomorrow!

I gave that about 10 minutes then put it back in the box. Maybe I should give it another go sometime.

I was like that with Infamous, gave it 10 minutes and stopped (got it free when they fecked up). Went back to it and loved it, that and Infamous 2 must be the only games I have 100% trophies on.

I "played" through Dear Esther again, yesterday. It's still thoroughly absorbing.

Perhaps I'll finally get round to some of the unplayed games in my Steam library. In fact, I'm not going to buy another game until I have given at least three of them a good go.

FIFA 13 (PS3) just showed up in our house. We buy every other release, so missed out on the features of 12, but compared to 11, 13 feels very well put together - and the new game mechanics add some little touches that are quite nice additions to what is a fairly obvious game style. It's also nice to see some side games for training your techniques included finally. The menus, and load times, however, are still awful. Awful.

Doesn't it install to the HDD, or has it got a mode with a bunch of variables or something?

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 - I fear I'll always be a Mortal Kombat person

The game's good if that's your thing, but I really can't be doing with continual counter attacks as a result of a barrage from either side :(

I have Steam but I'm a Mac user so not all games are ported. That and the fact sometimes I like to sit on the couch in front of a big TV with my controller in hand.

I've actually got more games than I've got hours to play them in Steam largely due to Humble Indie Bundles and Steam sales and my inability to turn down a bargain!
