and i like it can be hard to start with but its oh a game with that thing called FUN

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Nothing like an almost impossible, blind luck, multiple deaths first ten minutes... What sort of a twat decides that's the way to open a game? I gave up, thank [LIFTED] I only rented it.

Xeodrifter - Metroid on the cheap with supposedly retro graphics and gameplay, except Metroid didn't look this awful even on the NES, and it sure as hell wasn't as painful to play. Can we stop with the faux retro sh1t now? It's displaying inadequacy not hiding it.

Playing Tamriel Unlimited on the PS4. It seems to have the scope of Skyrim, but the server keeps dropping the connection so I have to reload and restart from the last saved point. Also had a 16 GB download before I could even start.

Also need to find a way to turn off mic input from other players. I've had babies crying, cat meows and other distracting noises from other players who are in the same area as I am.

I played that a bit. Hit a big difficulty spike that the game wouldn't let my higher level friends join in to help me out with. Multiplayer FTW! Plus the whole crafting system is a monumental joke.

Also, game + patches is a 55GB install. 55GB!

go to the options (forget the key, will look if you can't find it), go to 'social', then 'voice chat' and then leave whatever public channel you're in. That'll turn the idiots off.

Uncharted Collection demo - You don't realise how iffy some games were until you play them again by today's standards. Everything around the shooting is a little wrong, from the amount of rounds necessary to kill someone to actual hit detection up close. There's an awful lot of 'find the right spot' to trigger a cutscene or for the action prompt to appear, too. And you forget how often you die because the camera won't quite work.

The graphics look good, but not enough to buy the games all over again. There's the usual 'that's some precise hair for someone not called Trump' going on, but the animation and frame rate are top notch.

Lego Jurassic World demo - Same as every other Lego game, though this feels a little more... Thought through. Good demo.

Bought GRID 2 in the Codemasters weekend sale (Steam) with DLC for £7.50. I quite like it as whilst I prefer simulation racing sometimes it's nice to have a blast on something a bit more arcade-y.

Metal Slug 3 - Circle to jump? Really? Need to adjust the settings, but I know the game will be difficult no matter what.

At least my broadband is fixed - 1.6GB in 8 minutes! :)

For the OS X users among us, Steam currently have this for £15.99.
Worth investing in?

If you search 'isolation' in this thread you'll find our chatter about it. Have you got a controller for the Mac? I personally wouldn't fancy playing this game with a keyboard :|

Finally got back round to Civ Beyond Earth at the weekend.
Thankfully they seem to have fixed the bugs that were causing it to crash from the first time round I had a go.
Granted it's just my first decent game but bewildered would be how I would characterise progress so far. I think I've been doing something wrong and need to focus on a single affinity rather than trying to research everything.
More investigation required so I'll have to be prepared to lose another day at the weekend. Wonder if Rising Tide makes the game much better like the first expansion for Civ V did.
