I feel your pain; I discovered the hard way that even if you install Steam and Skyrim onto the D: drive of a machine it will still whack all the save games into the C:

Reinstall Windows and 'poof', one level 50 character with 100+ hours playtime goes up in a puff of 0's and 1's

Carrying on. Doing things slightly differently this time, so getting different quests to do (along side the main ones).

I think if I had to replay it, I'd get all the simpler levelling stuff done (like smithing) earlier on to make it easier. I'd probably do all of the other storylines before embarking on the main quest line. I tried doing that when I was supposed to meet Delphine in Riverwood. Did lots of other quests, joined other guilds. Didn't complete the Companions or the Stormcloaks storylines but did the Mages Guild, the Dark Brotherhood one, the Thieves, became Thane of three cities. Once I finished the main quest, I just got bored and didn't bother playing any more.

Would seriously suggest doing all other side quests and storylines, become Thane of every place in Skyrim where possible and then embark on the main storyline, which can be completed very quickly (think I did it all in a day).

Hmmm well have just got a PS3 and would like to pay Skyrim BUT

Do I buy it for the PS3 with all the limitations that I would have with the graphics and using a pad (and issues over access to the TV with SWMBO)
or
Wait for 6 odd months until I can afford to get a new PC so I can play it on that

Has the newer PS3 patch arrived yet? It's still unplayable for some...

Just finished the War for Skyrim story. Now found that one of the “help a Solitude resident” quest is undoable.

Never mind. Got lots more to do. Oh, I managed to get Lydia killed again. Ho hum.

Don't think so no. Haven't booted it up personally for a week or so though so...

Nothing yet, as far as I can tell.

Did they ever patch the XBox problem that was causing low res textures to be used if the game was "installed"?

Yep, pretty soon after release. There's still plenty of bugs left they haven't patched though...

You can now make your own mods to the game:

Bethesda has finally given fans access to the long-awaited Creation Kit for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This lets players craft their own mods and tools for the game, and then share them online.

Maybe they should fix some of the bugs while they are at it, eh?
